These are my thoughts on the Wide Receivers Rankings

1. Sidney Rice - I feel as if he's number one because he's been the most consistent Wide Receiver of this class. Just look at his last two years and his only two years of playing he had 2,223 yards receiving and 23 touchdowns. He has nice size at 6-4 210 runs a 4.45. His on-the-field play year in and year out has impressed me the most to make him my number one. I believe if he stayed in college for another year he would've been projected in the top 5 for next year draft. I believe he does need to be more polished than what he is now.

2. Calvin Johnson - He is an interesting projects that has all the physical ability to be the best in the Wide Receiver Rankings. I have him at 2 because of his lack of consistency year in and year out of separating himself from tight man-to-man coverage. Overall he his an interesting player that stands at 6-5 and weighs 240 and runs a 4.35 in the 40 yard dash, which I think is impressive for a player at his size.

3. Dwayne Jarrett - This guy right here reminds me of a Mike Williams that didn't take a year off of playing football. He's impressive standing at 6-5 220 and runs a 4.5 in the 40 yard dash. He has had a impressive career at USC totaling up 3,318 receiving yards and 41 touchdowns in 3 years. This guy goes up there to get the ball. What impressed me the most about him is his consistency to catch the ball in traffic and absorb many big hits and kept on trucking. His toughness reminds me of Keyshawn Johnson. With the right coaches working with him he could be in the top 5 of receiving yards his rookie season.

4. Robert Meachem - If starting in the NFL, this guy could be in contention for Offensive Rookie of the year. This guy hands are gold. He's blazing fast. He ran a 4.36 in the 40 yard dash and he won the catching competition award at the College Skills Challenge. This guy could be the A. Boldin of the draft. I believe he's going to be a top 20 pick. I don't think he's getting out of the 1st Round. This guy could be the best wide receiver if he works on his concetration of catching the ball. He does have problems with catching the ball going through the middle. His last season was his best totaling 1,298 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. This kid can really play.

5. Tedd Ginn - Very fast and quick. He's like a Reggie Bush at the Wide Receiver position. I have him as my fifth rank because of his small frame. How will he hold up against big hits from guys like Roy Williams and Sean Taylor? Durability is a concern. Standing at 6-0 175 you have to really ask yourself, how many hits can he absorb before he hangs up on his career. Other than durability he have problems running routes and he tends to muff punt returns. I feel out of all the wide receivers in the draft he has the most upside to him if he could stay healthy and work some things like catching the ball, not fumbling, and not muffing the ball. He's the type of wide receiver that have game-breaking speed and explosiveness. Who ever takes him is really gambling.

6. Paul Williams- I would have him higher in my rankings but he really haven't done too much in his college career. This is a player that could be leading the NFL in receiving yards and touchdowns. He has everything it takes to be an elite Wide Receiver at any level. If he works hard he could be a game-breaking player. It's a big if. He is a major gamble that could either end up a jackpot or just dirt. He's 6-1 210 and runs a 4.3 in the 40 yard dash. He runs precise routes and he gets separated quick from conerbacks and could make all the catches.

7. Jacoby Jones - He has alot to offer more than playing wide receiver, he has ability to return kickoffs. Can help in the receiving game and could be dangerous in open field. He has great concentration when catching the ball. I can't help but to think with two years development as a special teams player and a fourth wide receiver he could develop into a star wide receiver. He's 6-2 215 and runs a 4.40 in the 40 yard dash. I like to have him on early second day if not late first day.

8. Dwayne Bowe - I believe he's going to always be a number two wide receiver but he's going to be a good one. He's more of a complement player. He's like an Marion Barber at the wide receiver position, he's the finisher. He knows how to get touchdowns. Yards? In that category he's not the man right now, more like developing. It's going to take him some time to develop on the next level. It's going to take him 1 to 3 years to be a number one guy.

9. Aundrea Allison - Is very fast and can make big plays. Just like Dwayne Bowe he's an number two guy that have lots of potential to be a number one. I like that he jumps up to get the ball. This is the type of guy that streches the field. In the slot, in the right system, and on the right team he could be 500- 800 yard wide receiver that gets you 5-8 touchdowns in a season. I say like his 4th or 5th season he will end up being a 1,000 to 1,500 yard wide receiver.

10. David Clowney - This is one of the sleepers to me in the draft. Can he stay healthy? This is the question that pops up when I think about him. Yeah he's an fast healer but who really wants to start a wide receiver that can't stay healthy. I wouldn't draft him as nobody else insurance policy. He has the potential to be a number one guy. Just like Paul Williams he has all the physicals you are looking for. He's 6-1 190 and runs a 4.40. This guy acceleration allows him to turn short plays into long gains. Look for him to go early third to mid fourth.

Yea, stopped reading at #1 with Rice over Johnson.

Yeah uh, it's hard to justify Rice over Johnson, because pretty much everyone knows Johnson's getting drafted before Rice..

LoL, it's hard to put up consistent good stats when you have a RB throwing you the ball.

Wow. RCF, you've said a lot of... uh, "interesting" things here on this website. But this one takes the cake.

Sidney Rice is the 6th (maybe 7th behind Anthony Gonzalez) WR in this draft. The fact you have him over CJ, who is the best prospect in years, is... mind-blowing.

Yeah, but why is he getting drafted over Rice? I'll tell you why because he's 6-5 240 and runs a 4.35 and his last year was his best year. But what was Johnson doing before his last season. 2004 he had 837 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns and in 2005 he had 888 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns.

Rice has been more consistent over his career and played against better competition than Johnson.

I just look at little details to see big the picture.

You realize that his "career" was only 2 seasons in a pass happy Spurrier offense, don't you?

Calvin Johnson had a bad QB and in my opinion poor coaching. There were a few GaTech games that I watched where they did not even look his way for large portions of the game. The announcers would always say just throw the ball in his direction, but the Yellow Jackets seemed like they were stubborn enough to look the other way. It reminded me of when Chan Gailey was in Dallas and he under utilized Michael Irvin. Gailey would actually take Irvin off the field in certain critical situations. I think that would explain some of Johnson's inconsistant production.

Yup but look what he did in that pass-happy offense. His averaged more yards than Johnson over a two year span than Johnson did over an three year span.

I would agree Johnson is better and the only reason he is listed as the 2nd is because of a bit of an off year that had more to do with how Gailey used him than his ability. Other than that I think these are the top 10 WR in the draft and hopeful Dallas can get a top WR

I think some are getting carried away. Johnson is the best WR in the draft but Rice is also considered a top WR and is a very good wideout in his own right.

Call it an excuse or a reason. You can't make plays when they don't try by scheme to get you the ball or if your QB is incapable of throwing good passes. I saw Johnson make plenty of plays on a poor offensive team. He would have put up better numbers if he played for Spurrier and Rice would have put up worse numbers if he played for Gailey. Do you think that Ball was a good QB? Do you think Gailey is a good coach?
