Exactly, and getting rid of Steele with a June 1 cut and building up more draft picks is a way to try to become more competitive. The question is will Jerry do it? Most competent FOs would do something like this.
I agree. we have to move on from steele, except his dead cap would be 19.5M....which to Jerry is money already paid out. so why pay steele, not have him and then have to pay another player for the same position.
he will not get rid of steele and this debacle will continue for another 2 years.

Exactly, and this is the prime opportunity to move on from Steele. Heck, I'd try to see if we can trade him too if we can. Maybe we can get a 5th for him. Consider we got him undrafted, that'd be a nice haul for him.

RustyBourneHorse......what makes Manning such an early pick right now?......pedigree?......he can't replace Ewers right now. And we saw what went on against Geogia. This is the NFL we're talking.

I think he's going to be very good. From what I've seen of him, there's a chance he develops into something good. Otherwise, there will probably be another QB come the 2026 draft that works too. Either way, we will want someone and let him sit behind Dak for a year while we make the final preparations for him to start. For now though, I'd like Manning.

Ok....fair enough. Let's wait until Manning is a full-time starter going against the meat of the SEC. That would be fair to Arch too. I'm pulling for him.

Oh, fur sure, and I can always adjust the QB in this discussion if needed. But, if Manning develops in college into what I think he can become, I think we will have quite a good player. Plus, by letting him sit a year behind Dak, he can learn the ropes of the pro game. So, it benefits him in that way too.

Dallas has the tanking part already.
.
The rebuilding part is where it will get tricky.
Does the Jones know how to rebuild anything, other than their bank accounts?

Well, and I think the plan that I have written is the best way to rebuild the team. Like I said though, we do need to put Lance in at some point. I'd like it sooner rather than later, but at some point, it is a need. If nothing else, we should do it when we are just about mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

Ok....but let's get some more film while Arch is in college. Good take.
