You really think there will be no coaching changes?

And I am not talking about your boy Garrett, everybody knows he is the sacred cow in the barn, but I guarantee you there are a couple of sacrificial lambs in the pasture that are going to be on the dinner menu for Christmas day.

No way this entire coaching staff comes back intact after posting a 4-12 season. I expect at least 2-3 assistant coaches to be shown the door.

They'll flip a couple position group coaches, like every losing team does. Maybe replace Bissacia. Nothing dramatic. Because they don't believe Garrett is the issue.

Sadly you are probably right. We will waste yet another season next year.

Idgit, I know you have always been in Garrett's corner but has this season given you any reservations at all concerning Garrett or do you blame it on all on the QB situation???

Note: I am am just curious as my opinion and your opinion carry the same weight (None;)) so I will not argue with you on what you post. I am just curious what Garrett supporters think now.

Another ill-conceived comment. Gailey is a better and more accomplished coach than Garrett has ever shown himself to be.

So what? Talk about a Jerry retread.....I'm still waiting for a list of proven perennially contending caliber coaches that are waiting to be hired. Wade Phillips is more accompished than Garrett. Let's bring him back amirite?

I'd probably get a lot of downvotes for this thread if that were an option, but fortunately it isn't.

I'm as disappointed as anyone this season. I had completely retreated from sports years ago outside of Dallas Cowboys football and UNC Basketball, and was as hyped as anyone about this season only to be crushed like a clavicle in Week 2. While I don't think the Coryell system is as bad as some here, it definitely needs some "updating", and I thought Linehan was the guy to get it done. Maybe, maybe not, but I think judging the coaches based on super conservative playing with bad QBs is an incorrect approach to analysis.

Despite problems across the team this year, I believe they are all easily fixable in the offseason, and that the lack of a top 10 QB is being handwaved by the boobirds on the board. This D is young and hungry, and Marinelli has showed he is willing to dial up the pressure as he has confidence in both his players and the other side of the ball. Garrett and Linehan aren't BB, but no one else in the league is either. I believe we have the best we are going to get with Jerry alive, and that it's good enough to be commanding the division next year and into the future with Romo or an understudy in command. Of course, all of this is contingent on getting a legitimate understudy.

Some guys on here want to discount Garrett's non-gameday abilities. You can learn time management and you can tweak your Xs and Os. Organizational and motivational skills are nearly impossible to teach. Id rather have someone born with the latter.

3 years as OC and 5 as HC and you think our HC is ok because he can "learn time management and Xs and Os"?

Lol

I don't care about what non-Romo guy is throwing the ball right now. One season doesn't mean "sky falling" in the current situation. I'm looking at the O-line, the D-line, Byron Jones, etc. This season is a wrap, I'm not talking about it.

It appears 12-4 was a fluke and this is a regression to the mean.

Do I have more reservations about him, yes... do I think he is our best option moving forward with Romo likely only have 2 or 3 more years at QB (and knowing that rookie coaches don't generally win Super Bowls) yea. Does that answer your question?

"So what?" So somebody again doesn't know what they're talking about. Ever since this thread was started.

He'd be yet another coach who's actually accomplished something anyway. You keep trying to defend Garrett while taking shots at other coaches with actual accomplishments and you keep making yourself look bad.

I'm not defending Garrett's vanilla offense. I'm shredding this anyoneitis you and others have, and you are too oblivious to follow your own implied arguments. I also keep asking for names of potential candidates to upgrade the HC position, and you and others in the Anyone camp continuously refuse to actually provide names (There is the Payton camp, but he isn't currently available). I'm happy to provide plenty of names of coaches with more accomplishments than Garrett. But having more accomplishments doesn't mean a coach is an upgrade. Apparently you would be happy for Gailey and Phillips to come back. Because accomplishments. Even though according to Phillips himself, he is a "lousy head coach".

I'm not so sure that is the case. Jones is acting cagey and I cannot read him. I get that he is unlikely to eat ~$20m or however much he is still owed but with a salary cap in place there is no excuse for being frugal on uncapped advantages that are available as much money as they make.

The only thing you're "shredding" is whatever measure of credibility you may have had.

Both have done more than the guy you're trying to defend, so you've lost any 'argument' before its ever begun.

If you're starved for a potential name, I'd consider Adam Gase as a quality candidate. And unlike your hero, he's shown a great knack for coaching up quarterbacks too.

No one said he is difficult to "replace". He is difficult to upgrade from.

We. Are. In. Trouble. Then.

And I thot 20 yrs of futility seemed like a long time . . . . . . . :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Good thing we already have 5, otherwise our case would look like this :igglestrophy:

Need some scapegoats to attempt pacifying the fans. But most will just roll their eyes knowing whats in store.

I guess forum credibility is important to you. Unfortunate.

Ah lets see. Adam Gase. Did really well with Peyton Manning dictating the offense and has the Bears averaging 20ppg and less than 300 yards of offense. Sounds like a serious upgrade.
