Wow, you actually
don't understand how the cap works. Little shocked, if only because you've been around for so long. Restructured money is prorated. Your link only shows what was earned in any given year. That is not the same as a cap charge. Romo's cap number exceeded
$10M multiple times. 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. It was $20.8M in 2016, and it
would have been $24.7M in 2017, had he played.

APR 1 2015Coverted $16 million of his 2015 salary into bonus, clearing $12.8 million in 2015 cap space with Dallas (DAL)
MAR 4 2014Restructured $12.5M of his 2014 base salary with Dallas (DAL)
Ok i was wrong about 2013, and 2015
in 2014 after his restructure his base was 1mil and add his 5mil prorated SB and the 2,5mil restructured base = 8.5 caphit for 2014.
2010 he was over 10mil by 750k.
The point still being the cowboys have messe

Im wrong, i forgot about the prorated SB in yrs 13-15. Which put him over 10mil in 13 and 15. 2014 he was under because Dallas sent most of his base salary in 2014 as Bonus which got prorated. He ended up with a 1.5 base, 5mil prorated and 2.5mil prorated restructured bonus. 9mil cap hit.
would haves dont matter because it was a foregone conclusion Romo was done in 2015 when he went down, came back in 2016 and 1 hit not even a big hit his body was done. Dallas knew this because they made multiple attempts to draft a replacement even before they got Dak in the 4th.
My point being Dallas has always been good at creating structured deals to get money from it. They basically showed the league how to do this. Now they dont operate like this anymore. Theyre not paying aging veterans big money anymore.
