I doubt most of the Romo haters never saw those guys play. Some sound like they were just born when QC was playing!

I think most fans that can't stand Romo don't pay attention to the rest of the NFL beyond the Cowboy's opponent for the next week.
There are some bad QB's out there and the good ones aren't better than Romo.

Even the best aren't that much better than he is.

They say ignorance is bliss, and it is- but not for the people that have to listen to the ignorant.

None of Romos INT were his fault today. No, for realz this time.

The Hail Mary..come on. and then.....

Tim MacMahon ‏@espn_macmahon28s
Phillip Tanner took blame for Tony Romo's INT in 2nd half. Broke in instead of out. 34 said Romo acted as leader by yelling at him.

I saw that and i pointed that out to people in the chat today. You could clearly see romo yelling at tanner and motioning with his hands on the route to the outside.

The two weeks following his 550 yards and 5 TD game, you mean? You guys are, seriously, unbelievable. On a side note, congrats to Tony for throwing for more yards in his first 100 games than anybody in the history of ever.

and How many championships or playoff wins has that earned this team.....not knocking Romo for the cowboys lack of success....but the NFL is a team sport, just ask Dan Marino how many superbowls he won.

That deserves a huge congratulations. Sure it's a more pass-centric league, but that's still an amazing stat!

Well, Romo did throw 2 INT's today, so maybe he does need to be replaced. The guy is clearly losing it and looks like he does not know what to do anymore with the ball. He looks tired, slow, and cannot seen to make the right reads.

He easily could have had at least 3 more TD's if his head was in the game! Romo was lucky that the refs gave him this game.

I can only guess you are being sarcastic with this post?

Good post, but be prepared those everyday Zoners homers that will hammer you over your Romo observation....I agree he has hit his ceiling its now about managing his decline. But I thought your post was spot on. This team plays to the level of its opponents not up to its capability.

I agree- he's getting no better than he is now- the stats may say otherwise, but I believe that's because of Callahan's play calling. Players his age and experience don't normally have some epiphany and become much better, they are what they are.

And I also agree they need to start thinking about managing his decline, but more because I believe the team should always be prepared ahead of time for such things, not that it's happening now.

Kidding aside, I honestly think that is actually the case with some. Someone was on here the other day saying they were born in '95 or something...someone that young wasn't paying attention to those scrub qb's. I was a fan all thru the 80's, but heck I was outside playing football in the yard most of the time.

LatinMind...I liked a lot of your sentiments in your OP, but I'd suggest it's way to premature to be making conclusions about Tony, just 2 weeks removed from a historic performance.

And look...you can forget about Tony going anywhere as the Cowboys have loaded up his wagon with a +100 mil contract--$25 mil guaranteed. Romo won't play the duration of the contract but he's here at least 2 or 3 years after this.

He had a very mediocre game. 1 Turnover. 1 Turnover. Forget the stats. You can't count a hail mary interception. 1 Turnover.

And 1 win.

Seriously? I can't believe this is a serious point you just snuck in there. We're not cutting Romo after next season, no matter what happens with any bottom-roster QB.

I stopped reading right there. Ridiculous!

My remark on Romo had nothing to do with his game. I posted on his health and something being off with him. But posters on this forum just hijack threads at random. today it happened to be a mod and thats sad. Because nowhere in my post did i mention his stats or his game i just see something off with his throws and i was wondering if there was more to this back surgery.

I can guarantee you he isnt going anywhere next yr, But the following idk about that. There is no way Dallas can take on that 25 mil salary. But like i said theres a clause in there that if he's on the team the 3rd day of the league season he gets 7.5 mil guaranteed. Now if Dallas can win a SB this yr i think the guy stays. But what if he has a end of the yr like he's been having all along. Id take signing Dez, Smith and Carter over having romo QBn my team any day. Aslong as there is somebody capable waiting. But this team is never going to know unless they act. Even if romo is on the team in 2015 they need to have somebody in waiting. This is the yr i think they need to go after a top QB. Because there are plenty. And youre right i realistically think he's here 2 or 3 more yrs too. But if its the same ole Romo come 2015 i think he could be out.

Dallas used Harris out of the backfield on a toss I think. I wish Dallas had the creativity to use Harris like this more often.

So ur saying that the team had something to do with him forcing that throw on the int? I agree the defense was lousy the first half of the game. But the DEF is what gave the O a shot in the 2nd half. My point to you is Romo has always been about "ill make the play" when the elite QBs say ill take what they give me and keep it going and it will come. And thats why he hasnt won. Manning won with horrible defense. Eli won with a horrible OL, Rodgers won with one of the worst secondaries(yards wise) in the history of the nfl, as did brees. What gives Romo a pass?

No, I'm saying QBs throw interceptions sometimes. When they throw one for every five TDs they throw, consider yourself lucky beyond measure.

The defense is not what gave that team a chance, by any definition, against Denver. They only gave up 23 more points in the second half, after their 21 point second quarter, if that's what you were referring to.

Payton did not win a Superbowl with a 'horrible' defense. Eli's OL wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible, either. Rodgers secondary was bad in yards, but not in points and not in takeaways. That's why they won. Same with Brees.

Romo gets less of a pass than any good QB in the league, as evidenced by some of the reason to a 550 yard, 5 TD, 1 INT, 140+QBR rated outing. But the primary reason the team hasn't won enough in recent years is we don't take the ball away enough, and we're easy to pass against. And, until this season, we've had trouble scoring points in the red zone. Of those three things, only red zone scoring makes any sense at all to put on Tony. And even that, this season, is a complete non-issue.

People on this board are crazy, Romo while not having a great game is having one of his best years, he will be the starter for at least another 3 years maybe 4 just in time for Manziel to hit the field. Randle was fine today imo and did not have much to work with all day. Next week will be an interesting challenge.

It really is. Although, if they're going to stop calling defenders for PI against Dez in the end zone, we may actually become average in the red zone.

But he's not being paid like a good QB. He's being paid to be a franchise QB. Thats how much Jerry believes in him. But he's failed to live up to Jerry faith. In every game that has had meaning to the Cowboys at the end of the yr. I can only think of 1 that Romo didnt leave my head scratching and that was the playoff game vs the vikings. The whole team just got their butts kicked. But other than that theyve been in them all, but if you can honestly say Romo wasnt a big part in the loss then you are lying to yourself. And thats what matters in great QBs and just being a QB. What you did in big games and what you won. Romo passed Aikman in stats a long time ago, but Romo isnt half the QB aikman was. Wasnt and will never be a firth of the leader Aikman was. Thats why im not a fan of this guy.

He's not a leader
He is a me first player
He takes very little accountability

But whenever you want to talk about what i was talking about with romo until u brought up all this nonsense. Feel free to chime in. Health-wise

It just blows the hell out of me that when the Cowboys win a game, no matter how they get it, something about Romo's game comes up! It's either trolls, simplistic Cowboy fans, or young Madden players.

But, the Romo haters do not appreciate anything he does.

its really amazing I agree. this is our entertainment ,yet we get this crap

I think we are seeing the decline of Romo. And its starting to show. He's lost a little on his throws and alot of his accuracy if you ask me. They need to draft his replacement this yr and cut him after next yr. Derek Carr is the guy im hoping for.

Is this a joke? I mean seriously...The guy is by far having his best season ever.
