Why I like that Choice speaks up:

He is not saying "My stats are being screwed by this, I need more carries for my stats" or anything selfish


he is saying that he believes he can help the team. What would you want him to say? Dont give me the ball I'd fumble.


No the guy trusts his ability, and he is ready to show it to the world. He wants the chance, he wants the opportunity and in the limited carries he has had, he has shown he is durable, has great vision can catch fantastically has some break away speed and can run up the gut

Some of yall sound like schoolyard *****es. TC IS a team player, he's shown that. If he was the real don diva some of yall are trying to paint him out to be he would've been imploded. He's the best all around back on this team, and he deserves more touches. He also has every right to say what he can do to help this team, publicly or not

I think all he did was ansewer questions that was asked of him. He did so honestly and without showing disrespect for his teammates.

It is not as if he went out and held a press conference in his driveway while doing situps. :laugh2:

If he was thinking just about the team then he wouldnt speak at all to the media about being traded if he cant get more playing time. It's not about the team. It's about Choice......

Now with that being said. I dont know what has happened between him, management, and his agent. I am not completely saying he is a cancer that needs to be cut out. It's his payday. It's his career. I cant say he is doing the wrong thing for himself. But i can say that this cant help the team on the surface.

Because he needs to make it clear he is not okay with not being given a chance. He doesn't want to go into OTA's and training camp not given the opportunity to win MBIII's carries. We all know why that would happen. He is saying that he is not okay with a repeat of last season and that the team should get something for him if that is how they will use him again.

I have no problem with his approach and I can guarantee he has already brought it up to coaches and possibly Jerry and Stephen. Sometimes, if you don't make something public, you can get pushed aside and treated unfairly.

And if he won't be given the chance, get some value for him in trade. It's actually quite simple. It is obvious that MBIII's contract has impacted his role on this team and Choice wants a fair shake.

Can you give me some examples where doing this has improved team chemistry and personal treatment? I'm sure I have couple instances where it has been counter-productive.

I actually agree with you on Choices right to speak up about his career. I dont blame him or fault him. But i wont act as if selfish behavior is good for the team. It's good for him. And in the same situation i may do the same thing. Im sure he wants success for the team. All the players do. But lets not act like they dont want their success even more. These are confident young men who all believe the team would be better off with them starting. But they will all put their personal financial situation first. As we all would as well.

My reason for responding to your post was because you were acting like choice came out and spoke because he was only caring about the team.

The nature of the sport is that you are on a team with guys you may route for and love in a sense. But you are also competing with them for playing time which equals money. Every back up player in some way is hoping for the starter to fail or get injured. Kind of sucks to think of it like that. But its true.

I think that is all this story is. Making more out of it than need be. Stephen Joens said he expects all RB to be here next season and I feel confident that will be the case. The following season who knows. I'm not bothered by what Choice said and feel he will do his best when he is in the game

I am withholding judgement until all the facts come out as they say, but still don't think a player needs to air their laundry in public. I didn't like it when Romo did it, when Roy did it, when Owens did it or when Bennett did his thang. As long as the players give media outlets soundbytes, the more they will sensationalize them to the detriment of the NFL I grew up watching. I hate that instead of asking tough football questions during press conferences, ESPN and crew are asking about Romo's love life, whether he gets along with his WR, etc.

He did not throw any teammate under the bus, he did not demand a trade or talked of holding out of camp. This is not the old days where the media act as they do today with all the 24/7 news. In that context I think he handled himself alright.

You guys just gotta get used to this kind of stuff. Its 2010 and with all the information that we can get a hold of we will know what kind of breakfast Tashard had this morning if we truly wanted to.


This entire thing is a non issue and if anything it helps us because teams may offer up more if they think there is a market for Tashard.

I don't know if I stated this before (more than 5 times), but I am reserving judgement until I have read what was actually asked and said, because the original article appeared to be a collection of soundbytes that could be mistrued. I am merely mentioning that I don't think any player should be airing their laundry to the media.

Everyone knew Barber wanted to be the starter without him saying a word, yet it was Julius that kept going to the media. Everyone knows that Choice wants to start, it's not the first time he's mentioned it, so I don't see a need to continue voicing it, if that is what he is doing.

If anything, I agree that this could drive up the potential trade value, not that I want to see us part ways with him; if it is of benefit to him and the Cowboys, then I would not want to hold him back.
