I'm still waiting to see if Jon McGraw and that other Chief who hit Romo in the head get fined.

AMERICAS_FAN;3016007 said:It was a justified penatly, and the fine is appropriate. Ball took a hard shot and led with his helmet for added impact. The replay shos it was premeditated based on his body movement. IT WAS STUPID because we had the third-down stop, but his STUPIDITY gave KC the ball back (not to mention, threatened possible, nedless injury to the opponent).
And the Cowboys' response to the infraction was IDIOTIC also, because they chose to complain about it and suggest it was a tic-tacky call. That's what's wrong with this staff; the right move would have been to call-out the player for this MENTALLY STUPID error. NO NEED TO LEAD WITH THE HELMET AND DRAW A NEEDLESS PENALTY! But no, not this staff; if someone does something STUPID, let's defend it at all costs.

The NFL slapped Cowboys CB Alan Ball with a $5,000 for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Chiefs wide receiver Bobby Wade.
Ball told reporters in Irving today that he will appeal the fine.
I know I'm in the minority, but I thought the officials made the correct call. Ball's helmet hit Wade's facemask, which, of course, is part of the helmet. Following the letter of the law, it was the correct call.
Now, do I think it was a ticky-tack penalty? Of course. But again, following the letter of the law, it was the correct call.
That is the biggest problem I had with the call. That play happened right in front of me. When the ref who was behind Ball threw that flag I almost lost it. He had no angle to see the play at all. Additionally he threw his flag well after the play was over. To throw a flag he had to assume it was a helmet to helmet hit after he thought about it for a few seconds. One of the other refs should have stepped in and said something.dbair1967;3016338 said:And there is NO WAY the official who actually threw the flag could have seen one way or another from where he was at.
