MySa Blog: NFL fines Ball

It look as if Ball even tried to pull his helmet down to avoid helmet to helmet contact. He should win his appeal.

You can see at :14 seconds of that replay that there was ZERO evidence of helmet to helmet, but it's rather obvious Ball turns his shoulder and drives it right into Wade's chest....a vicious hit, but completely legal and an intelligent play by Ball.

...league is using the "defenceless" player ruling on this one as opposed to "blow to the helmet"?

I've watched it twice...to me, clearly shoulder to chest with no head involved. He even turned inside to make it his shoulder. <Picture the famous Seinfeld episode about Hernandez spitting on Kramer and Newman> "His head came forward and down as his chest went back...forward and down...for that to be head to head, that would have been some magic (loogie/head)."

:laugh2:

I do not buy into some grand conspiracy against the Cowboys but Ball's hit would not be used in any argument that I would wage against the tangibility of the aforementioned grand conspiracy.

That hit was clean as a whistle and what is alarming is that given all of the views that the NFL had in their possession, they still elected to fine Ball. Kind of makes you wonder, where is my tin foil hat?

I watched that replay at least 7 times, and it sure seemed like it was shoulder to shoulder IMO.
Agreed. The receivers head snapped forward from a good legal hit to the chest. I don't think it really ever hit anything.

Obviously, this is proof of a league wide conspiracy against Dallas....

lol

I wish that would make it easy, it is deeper then that  the NFL refs are becoming more like soccer refs. Certain players will get flags and certain players will draw flags. One only has to watch Tom Brady and notice all the calls he gets when a Defender gets near him, then watch someone like Romo who can't get a call when the Ref is right there.

Watch a game of soccer and you will see what I am talking about, Dallas FC is playing Seattle on the 24th that game should be on TV in Dallas check out the refs they are their to controll the tempo not the rules

Did you ever watch Jordan play basketball ? The refs would watch to see if the ball went in the hoop, if not a whistle was blown...

not a b-ball fan, but I hear what you are saying, I would just like to watch one sporting event where the calls where about even. Maybe that Bills/Browns game was since it was 6/3 ?
