The Texans have spent a fortune for not very much in return.

Who was 3-9 last season.......not Dallas. They were 3-5, you seem to always over exaggerate numbers like this all the time. Maybe if you could get your information correct you wouldn't complain and be a Debbie downer all the time

I get what your saying but make no mistake about it, we aren’t New England and Garrett is NOT Belichick. Nowhere close to being on that level. When you have that level of coach you have a chance to win with no name guys.

Reason we don’t use it as a tool correlates with solid drafting.

Most teams don’t have a half dozen players they have to strongly consider giving elite second contracts to in the next 2 seasons.

Should read “Name one team who’s fan base is more clueless than the Cowboys concerning free agency”.

no. he was a FA that like hitchens was priced out of our range. we decided to let him go because we had tyron, fred, martin and collins. can't keep all 5 at high costs and leary had a knee issue that would degenerate from what i remember. that's why he fell in the draft.

According to reports from Benjamin Allbright and Ethan Young, the team is interested in and covets free agent left guard Ronald Leary, formerly of the Dallas Cowboys.

Owner Jerry Jones said they figured Memphis product Ronald Leary would not get drafted because of a chronic knee condition that could shorten his career.

Berry has played more than 5 games only five times in 9 seasons. If the Cowboys bring him in they'd better keep Heath around as insurance.

The problem is not that they’re staying out of the big price market. It’s that they haven’t resigned their own like they promised.

They’ve done quite well on the secondary market but this year they have 2 big holes as it stands today at LE and RE and 2nd and 3rd round picks won’t fill them adequately for the production that was being gotten from the position last year

A second round safety would be an upgrade to Heath or maybe even the slot position.

But for a team that was built on its defense last year, 2 big reasons for that are gone as it stands today.

The reason it wasn’t working is because the front office did a HORRIBLE job last off season.

It was a horrendous off season where they failed to field a team ready to compete for the season.

They forced themselves into a situation. Where they had to use a first round pick because of how bad they did in the off season. Everybody they added, sucked.

I like what the Giants did this offseason. They are clearly rebuilding. So, not paying a safety huge money and cashing in oft-injured OBJ for a 1st and 3rd makes a lot of sense. Vernon is 33 and was set to make 15.5 million.. They'll have Eli off the books soon. They are looking at a ton of cap space and future draft picks going forward.

You get what you pay for. Amazing how even Jerry Jones freely admits that his successes have come when he has taken the most risk. Cooper cost a first round pick to erase their free agency inactivity. And they are doing the exact same thing again.

when was the last time someone became a falcon?
dolphins. people are rushing to the dolphins these days.
oakland but then again they lit their plane on fire and took a nosedive
chicago. i'm sure they've signed, someone.

we'd have to first define the parameters of "worse" as not everyone is going to see it the same way as you. as for the teams above, i'm sure they've signed people i just don't see the major headlines out of 'em.

jets took bell. that should fix everything.
jags - foles. wow. let me get back lest i get crushed by those rushing out to get their superbowl tickets.
    packers. legit moves
cleveland - seemingly legit moves. unsure if enough to break the brown curse. (which has nothing to do with bad mexican food, btw)
can you name a team out there signing big names that have taken them a huge step forward to the ultimate goal of winning a superbowl? most seem designed to put butts in the seats and sell jerseys and false hope.

unless they're going to catapult manning into insurance commercials with his brother moves this year made no sense.

when they ditch manning then they are rebuilding.

Dallas isn't terrible in FA. Their approach is simply low reward and low risk, along with minimal cap hits for free agents.
There are plenty of more active teams that are worse in FA cause they strike out on bigger names due to scheme, laziness(on both sides) or production issues .
