No. It was a cover 2 to the right side of the field and a man to man to the left. There was no disguising it. Pre-snap Newman moved up to face up Jackson. Sensenbaugh was 15 yards deep. Jenkins was 8 yards off his man, with Ball standing next to him. After the snap, everyone did what they were supposed to ( 'cept Newman missing on jamming Jackson ). Ball dropped to the middle of the field at the first yard marker, Jenkins followed his man towards the left side without looking back at the QB ( man to man ) , Newman shadowed Jackson ( again, instead of jamming him ) while keeping his eye towards the QB. Sensanbaugh drops back initially, but hesitates as he sees Naaneen coming towards him uncover. Rivers see's Sensanbaugh's hesitation as he's dropping back ( you can't tell by the film what Rivers was looking at, but it obviously was at Sensanbaugh because he lets go of the ball without any second thoughts ) and fires a bomb towards Jackson.
It was the perfect play for the wrong defense.
If Sensanbaugh even hints he's going towards Jackson off the bat, he hits a wide open Naanee over the middle for a 60 yards touchdown. As it is, if he had waited just a split second more, he probably could have because the film shows Sensanbaugh actually let Neenaan go and he was all by himself.
