In other words, it was NOT Cover 2. It was a combination coverage, and it looks like we were trying to disguise it before the snap.

No. It was a cover 2 to the right side of the field and a man to man to the left. There was no disguising it. Pre-snap Newman moved up to face up Jackson. Sensenbaugh was 15 yards deep. Jenkins was 8 yards off his man, with Ball standing next to him. After the snap, everyone did what they were supposed to ( 'cept Newman missing on jamming Jackson ). Ball dropped to the middle of the field at the first yard marker, Jenkins followed his man towards the left side without looking back at the QB ( man to man ) , Newman shadowed Jackson ( again, instead of jamming him ) while keeping his eye towards the QB. Sensanbaugh drops back initially, but hesitates as he sees Naaneen coming towards him uncover. Rivers see's Sensanbaugh's hesitation as he's dropping back ( you can't tell by the film what Rivers was looking at, but it obviously was at Sensanbaugh because he lets go of the ball without any second thoughts ) and fires a bomb towards Jackson.

It was the perfect play for the wrong defense.

If Sensanbaugh even hints he's going towards Jackson off the bat, he hits a wide open Naanee over the middle for a 60 yards touchdown. As it is, if he had waited just a split second more, he probably could have because the film shows Sensanbaugh actually let Neenaan go and he was all by himself.

Good thing you don't run the team. He doesn't run scared it just seems that he jogs on kickoff returns for whatever reason.

No, I am just a realist, try it once in a while.

Nope, just their fault I have to read such stupid stuff every day.

You don't have too. You can get up from sitting in front of the computer and watch the game instead. Wait a minute....you said you get sick every sunday and don't enjoy the games much either. HMMMM. You aren't considering firing yourself as a fan are you? That would be about as stupid as the people saying Jerry should fire himself. After all, fans have no right to be critical unless we think they should, right?

Crayton brings nothing to the table, if his body and brain were as talented as his mouth, he'd be all world.
Not true, he's a very good slot Receiver.

I would like to see some dead weight go like Carp, Hurd, McQuistan, Holland, Ball, these guys bring nothing to the table. We need to look at OL and DL help in the draft.

Don't know if he can continue playing the way he is but Austin looks as legitimate a #1 as there's going to be.
58 receptions, 999 yards, 17.2 YPR, 10 TDs.

He's 2nd behind Vernon Davis for TDs (tied with Fitzgerald).
He leads the league in receptions over 20 yards.

If that's not a #1 WR, I don't know what one is.

Ha! I was only scanning this thread to see if there were any good fights. I didn't actually read any of the posts that involved cutting starters, but that one is awesome.

How can you possibly disagree with what I said, then two things that prove you agree with me? You're actually disagreeing with yourself.

Was it Cover 2? No, it was a combination coverage -- a Cover 2 look to our left and a man-to-man to our right.

Was Newman in Cover 2 position from the start? No, he was playing off, then moved up right before the snap.

Sensabaugh's mistake was turning inside when Rivers still had the ball. He's supposed to hold his position and be able to break on both receivers. Once he turned toward the inside, it was an easy read for Rivers. And that would have been true whether Newman jammed Jackson or not.

Both Newman and Sensabaugh were at fault on the play.

Defensively, we need a new FS, I wouldn't mind using a first round pick on a playmaker. So I am all for cutting Hamlin.

Offensively, I think we need a new philosophy when it comes to our O-line. I think the big, slow mauler approach just doesn't work in today's NFL. I wouldn't cut anyone until we find replacements but I am in favor on focusing on the O-line along with a FS in the off-season.

You cut Hamlin and you lose all street cred...IMO bad choice

In no particular order.

Mike Jenkins -- I saw him get beat one or two times. He's gotta go.

Jay Ratliff -- What is wrong with this guy? His sack production has fallen this year. Waste of space.

Demarcus Ware -- He totally took the wind out of our sails Sunday with his "injury" - now we find out he may play Saturday? Fakers need to get cut.

Miles Austin -- if Miles is soooo good why did he tank it his first few years? Two words: "contract year" -- he'll disappear after getting paid.

Wouldn't it have been easier to copy and paste the whole roster?
