Time to bring in a legitimate #1 WR, make Austin #2, move Roy Williams to #3 and then restock the #4 WR option so well that Ogletree rounds it out at #5.

Don't know if he can continue playing the way he is but Austin looks as legitimate a #1 as there's going to be.looking like a top 10 WR both play and numbers wise. Top 10 at any position should be considered a decent #1 at any position other than ST's.

I said it early in the season that I would have went with Ball over him. Newman is like a bad dream that keeps getting worse. I don't care about the cap hit. Good riddance. Good thing you don't run the team. He doesn't run scared it just seems that he jogs on kickoff returns for whatever reason.

They also threw more towards Jenkins' side than they did towards Newman's. Jenkins made more plays than Newman did.

But, alas, that's not worst of problems. Newman can still play, but not at a high level or the level his contract dictates he plays at. He's not going to get better. Time catches up to everyone and he's no exception. If he's willing to take a major paycut, then great, but he wouldn't be. No team in the NFL would sign him, at this point, for what's left on his contract.

A winning team, with a 3-4 year window, would pay a whole lot of money for Newman. Newman is a pure cover CB who still runs a mid 4.3, and he has the respect of the NFL executives and GMs.

I don't know if Newman was supposed to jam that guy on that 3-12 or not. I was just listening to Tony Dungy. Sensabaugh got there a little late, because the slot guy was open. Newman denied the inside, but Rivers stuck it outside, in a tight window, near the sidelines.


Anyway, the CBs are strong on the team.

The team needs a ballhawk FS.

Still, you hold SD to 20 points and can't score 24 when you should have and lose.
