I know, having 3 college teams is a bit weird, but I grew up in El Paso, became a Horns fan in the Cotton Bowl where the Horns went up against Roger Staubach's Navy team... later in life, I went to college at UTEP... then when I quit school, I became a golf pro (club pro) in the Shenandoah Valley, about an hour and a half from Charlottesville... my members were all Cavs fans (well, most of 'em, anyway), and I started following them... then Ralph Sampson went there, and I had watched him play high school ball down in Harrisonburg, so I got REALLY hooked on them...
Hey, 2 of my 3 college teams made it to the big dance this year, and both of 'em are number 4 seeds... in the case of the Horns, that's actually a bit disappointing, but NOBODY expected the Cavs to have the kind of season they're having (and their best players will be back next year)...
Been a Cowboys fan since the beginning, I was 8 years old in 1960... became an O's fan in 1965, my Dad had been transferred from Fort Bliss to Fort Meade in Maryland, and we were living in the family home in Hagerstown... my Boy Scout troop took us all to a game at Memorial Stadium, it was Jim Palmer's rookie year, and he went up against the then Los Angeles Angels... the Birds were down 1-0 going into the ninth, Paul Blair made a brilliant catch in center field to keep the game close, then the home team came up with three singles and a stolen base in the 9th to win, 2-1... been hooked on them ever since...
