When a crappy QB cost 13-15 mil, it's time for reset. Since it's obvious the league doesn't mind half empty stadiums, maybe it's time to turn off the product? If enough stopped patronizing, at least long enough to negatively impact ad revenue, would we see a return to semi-sanity?

But he's not a starting QB. Would you want him starting on your team for years down the road? If the answer's no then he isn't worth starter money.
You are preaching to the choir. But given he's not going away. I'd hope the brain trust would pay him accordingly.

Go Cowboys.

What's it going to be then, eh?

If anyone has a doubt they should let him play out a year, look no further than Miami that will end up eating a huge chunk of Tannehill's contract.

I dont get what you are saying at all. Just curious, how do you expect to have a "Better," option at QB? You dont get a QB that is supposedly better out of college unless you spend a top 5 pick on that guy.... you see us having a top 5 pick soon? You wont draft a qb in the 3rd or 4th rd that you are gonna hand the keys to unless forced to. For those of you that love Dak so much, hed still be sitting with zero opportunity unless 9 got hurt.
All good QB’s aren’t top 5 picks and you have the option of trading up for one
Not sure where you got I love Dak
I think he has lots of flaws to his game
But he is the best option we have right now

There are plenty of examples of great QBs that werent top 5 picks, but a 5th rd pick isnt even getting a chance unless a starter goes down... ala Tom Brady. That was my point.

Don't forget he was behind Kellen his new QB coach as well. Dak is a decent back-up thrust into startem due to injuries.

Brady and romo are certainly exceptions
Most decent QB come from the first round though I would hate to be needing one in the next draft because it’s slim pickings
The lower you pick one the less chance of success which is somewhat true for most positions but at QB few really good ones slip very far

If Rodgers were our QB, with the players we'd have around him, what do you think our record would be?
It would be worth it just for the extra scrutiny he would be under. All his secrets would be out and he wouldn't be able to hide who or what he is anymore.

No I get ya dude has made more money than Aaron Rodgers over his career I think

I would be fine paying Dak 20 mill... that’s like middle of the road QB money in today’s cap era

And Rogers' team is starting to show the signs of all the money going to a single player!

I think your 2 scenarios are the exact opposite of what happens in the NFL.

1) Usually another team is more desperate at the position than you are and pay them more than they are worth. FA contracts are what drives up the market on players- not renegotiations IMO
2) Extensions are not usually more than that player would have gotten in a free market competition
Economics is inclusive of your first counterpoint, which otherwise refers to the demand side than supply side. I will not argue the point because it is usually true as you stated. However, the circumstance is not all-inclusive.

I believe your second point can be debated somewhat but I will not offer any examples (e.g. case studies) as ammunition for argument sake. I do not feel up to doing any homework right now. :p

Tagging him insures you pay TOP dollar

It is a last resort and why the want to extend him now or early next year

That strategy backfired terribly for WAS with Cousins because they were afraid to commit.....instead they paid him 45m for 2 years and then were forced to overpay for Alex Smith when Cousins walked

Waiting is paralysis by analysis.... we all know he is good enough and going to get better as the game slows down
I agree completely.

He's paid to say it
True enough but to paraphrase Chris Tucker in Rush Hour:

Is Sanders hearing the words that are coming out of his mouth?

It is one thing to say something and not totally understand what is being said. It is another thing entirely to say something in error and believe it is true.

20 million guaranteed , raise salary depending on results .

Top bonus would be Superbowl champs = 15 million bonus .
