Part of Dak's problem this year has definitely been the OL. That said, a top rated QB should be able to carry his team when all else fails. I just dont think Dak is that guy.
There are few that think Dak is a top rated QB
But half the league have worse or atleast no better options

Dak is just a guy.

If Jerry pays him huge money,, kiss the next 5 years goodbye.
I wouldn’t sign him to any deal I couldn’t get out of in 2-3 yrs
I’m not so concerned what we pay him the next 2-3 yrs but I want an out when I can get a better option
I’d rather pay more to get that out

Regardless of what the "market" for a QB is ... the real question is, what does Dak think he can legitimately get from another team out there? I don't see another NFL team offering him $20M for his services. If I'm Jerry, I have this talk with Mr. Prescott and find out what HE thinks he's worth. I could be totally wrong but, I don't see Dak as having an over inflated view of himself. I believe he'll work work with Jerry in order to make as much room as possible so that a number of quality players can be signed or retained.

Dak needs excellent players around him to succeed - not the other way around. Dak has accuracy problem with the football - he's not stupid.

I’m not big on Dak but he is about the middle of the pack to me. The real question is can he win games for you. He has because of the talent around him but he also is making the same mistakes this year as last
The problem you have is there is no better option in FA and you don’t have a top pick
The bigger problem is if you pay him what the market is, can you keep the talent around him and that may not be possible for long
And....he cannot be the reason you loose games
He might not be the reason the team wins ( t.bay game good example), but he has to avoid mistakes that loose games (1st skins game fumble)

To be fair, he was a part of the reason we won vs. Tampa. Threw for a TD and rushed for a TD. Without that we lose.

Dak's next contract may very well be franchise altering. For good or bad depending on how big it is.

That's why there is concern.

What is sad is that you can't seem to comprehend this blatently obvious fact.

Any qb that is signed, you can say it's cause for concern, what's sad is you crying over something that hasn't even happened.
Just as you fools cried over Cooper, just as you cried over Zeke being drafted #4

Dak doesn't suck, he's just not a top 10 QB right now.

I have to disagree. It's the ultimate team sport with too many variables that come into play to say a quarterback can carry his team to a Super Bowl.

Moon, Kelley, Marino, Fouts, Tarkenton, all Hall of Famers and "top rated QB" could not get their team a Super Bowl win. Yet, against all odds, guys like Eli (2), Flacco, Dilfer, MacMahon, Hostetler and Rypien did win one.

Now look at the top rated guys who can carry teams like Favre, Rodgers, Brees, Wilson -- but think about it - in their illustrious careers, they've only been able to win one each - just one.

So many things have to go right including having a good defense, home field, weather and probably most importantly official's calls. That being said Dak could absolutely win a Super Bowl, but you're right, he's not going to carry the Cowboys to a Super Bowl. Lastly, I don't think he's ever going to be a top ten quarterback. The things you can't teach like pocket presence and accuracy will always put him behind many others, but he just might be good enough to possibly win one.

Time will tell.
