National Guard, FBI on scene following gunfire in Boston suburb of Watertown

Saying no to a search or a suspect 'being in the area' (the city?) is not probable cause. My main concern in situations like this is that people don't get scared into giving away their civil liberties.

Dude what are you talking about? There is a known suspect in the area. Do you really think the police are going to just pass by a house that potentially has the suspect? Considering the magnitude of what has happened, I don't think house to house searches are intruding on civil liberties. Its almost like you WANT to make the job of the police harder so that this guy gets away.

Here is the sniff test. Is there a reasonable amount of suspicious that the suspect is in the house. Considering the circumstance that is easily a yes.

Seriously dude, what kind of person are you that is more concerned about people giving away their civil liberties vs catching a freaking terrorist?

A patriot.

Hey 'terrorists' burned down the Reichstag building in Germany so they gave all the power to those guys in the brown shirts. How did that work out?
I don't disagree, but at some point, I would think that a true Patriot would have no problem opening their doors and helping authorities find a terrorist. I can't imagine the selfishness of someone in that area who, when cops knocked on their door, said "no, you can't come in." To me, that person is either hiding something or taking advantage of civil liberties just to prove a point.

Wow. The ignorance here is amazing.

Benjamin Franklin would say you deserve neither.

I served my country and continue to serve, did you or do you just talk about it?

You have no clue of what probably cause is I suggest you both look it up. By the way CNN just reported that the police are knocking on doors, if people don't answer, they are using a bull horn, if people don't answer they are entering anyways, so yes, they have probable cause.

I would probably confirm to them that no one in in my home and leave it a that. There is no reason to search every house in the city.

This is the last and final warning in this thread about political discussion thread. If you can't refrain from discussing it, then I strongly suggest you remove yourself from the discussion.
