Look like the Spurs won the offseason as well with the FA signings of Diaw and Mills. Extending Parker and Pop and Duncan and Ginobilli opting back in.

You don't "win free agency" by resigning two guys who wouldn't have commanded much money elsewhere. The Spurs are probably still the best team but they didn't win free agency.

I'm not the only one who thinks that.

Any non Spurs homers?

Cleveland added the best player in the league in the prime of his career and didn't have to give up anybody to get him. They went from bottom feeders to contenders in the East. I'd call that one heck of a free agency. That doesn't mean they're better than the Spurs. But they easily made the most out of free agency. And there are other teams that improved a lot.

Looks like Cleveland is going to end up with Love trading away Wiggins to get him. Probably lose other players as well. So they'll be in the same boat as Miami was last year. All their money going to 3 players with nothing left over for solid role players. They'll compete in the East because the East is so bad, but would only be a 7th or 8th seed in the West. Lebron is again going to have to play huge minutes limiting the extent of his career.

I think Tristen Thompson, Anderson Varejao, & Corey Brewer (rumored to be going to Clev) has the make up of fine role players. And If they somehow keep Waiters they will have more fire power (although he may end up in philly). They could use more size though. Don't judge anything just yet..... the season has yet to begin spurs fans.....
(yeah, that's right, I used a small 'S') o_O

You're right. But you say all that like it's a bad thing. They went from a bottom feeder in the East to a team that, like you just said, could make the playoffs in the West. And you compare them to the Heat. But the Heat made the Finals four years in a row and won two of them. Plus, the downfall of the Heat was age and injuries. But Kyrie is 22 and Love is 25. When the Heat paired up, Wade was 28 and Bosh was 26. And none of them have the injury issues Wade has. And, to think, a month ago they were one of the worst teams in the NBA.

Again, to be 100% clear, if you think CLE is right now what it will be come playoff time you need to stop following basketball.

Adding LeBron re-made them from the worst team in the league over the past 3 years to a top 10 team immediately.
LeBron adds that much ball handling, scoring, rebounding, size, speed, passing.

But that team is just getting started. They are essentially the only destination for Love.
CLE and MIN both know this so it's just about waiting on key dates to allow the trade to happen.
Once it does, CLE becomes a top 5 team.
One with tons of ammo to get more key veteran players.

The East is fairly soft still; tho improving. CLE is the best bet to win it all because there is no good bet to win the West.

The Spurs are weaker than last year. They are a year older, missing a key rotational guy for a few months and coming off a championship which has always left them with a hangover.
OKC is arguably even to where they were last year. The attempted moves of the off-season really netted only status quo moves and they kept the underachieving coach in place.

The Clippers are still talented but unsure how to win. They still have Sterling drama.

The Rox took major steps backwards with their off-season moves, star declarations about the team being all d12 and duck dynasty beards and the coaching quandary.

Dallas added a lot in the off-season but Dirk and Tyson are older guys with no replacements on the roster. The PG play will be a huge key and how it plays out is a question mark with a fat guy, a short guy, and a guy who cant shoot it at all.

The West still has the most talent easily but no major elite team without issues.

why don't we wait and see the terms of the deal, before we claim they dont have anyone besides lebron, kyrie and love. because most accounts have them keeping dion waiters, tristan thompson and anderson varejao, which is way better than anything Miami had outside the big three

Those players are about equal to what the heat had. Bench? No bench. Lebron will have to carry the team. Again.
