They are looking for a Jrue Holiday like package for Murray supposedly. He is making less than 17 million on average the next two years. I'd love for the C's to through their hat in the ring, but I dont think we can put a package together that they will want.

If they trade Murray it is a tank and rebuild move so they will want young recent lottery picks and future R1 picks.
Cant even see them taking on Steven Adams and Eric Bledsoe types as NOP did but perhaps for the additional pick swaps.
Honestly NOP has treaded water around that play in area which is no mans' land so SAS should be looking for more upside and future help.

BOS has a really good team but because of that they have very limited trade assets.
I'd think Marcus Smart plus an R1, 2x R2 and a pick swap for Murray AND spare part like Diop-Bates.
Murray is a better scorer, passer, rebounder than Smart and 3 years younger but Smart plays winning basketball.

Smart is SAS kinda player. Tough as nails and of course elite defensively.

--ADDED NOTES. Getting a 3rd team to take Smart would likely make this even better for SAS. Get a recent lottery pick or young arrow up player and another draft pick for Smart.

I think in any deal that involved Smart, they would either find a 3rd team, or flip him shortly after. I think that deal you would be in line with what SAS is looking for.

Its worth noting that Murray fits into the Fornier TPE, so the Celtics dont have to send a salary match to SAS. Unlikely to be relevant in any Murray, but it makes a seperate Smart trade as the first domino in a Murray deal. A separate Smart trade could be an alternative to bring in a 3rd team.

KD is a great fit literally anywhere.
It will be interesting to see what he decides and where he wants to go.
The team who has the most assets toward getting him is ironically OKC. Brooklyn would be in a total rebuild minus KD/Kyrie and looking to dump any repeater tax.

MIA was pretty old last year. They added some very veteran help as rentals but Buttler and Lowry up front are aged as well.
Ironically the key young guys (Herro aside) are overpaid: Bam and Duncan
So tough to see a straight MIA/BRK deal working. Would likely need a 3rd team.
But KD is worth whatever it takes.
In this era of basketball he is the ideal player.
He can guard the post, score in the post and guard, score on the wings.
It's just a matter of how long you can keep him healthy.

I saw a package somewhere for Durant to Boston. It was pretty ridiculous. Brown, White, Grant Williams. Two frps, a bunch of 2nds and swaps. If thats the cost, then hard pass for me for a guy that might be starting a downside. Id give that up for a 31 Durant yes, not a 33 year old Durant. He a nice bounce back regular season, but he was also a big reason why we swept them in the first round

Brunson sweepstakes is going to be interesting. Knicks are supposedly going hard after, with the Mav supposedly offering a 5 year deal in line with Van Vleet (4 years 85).

Will be interesting to watch. NY is giving away Burkes and Noel to clear the way for Brunson. NY prioritizing Brunson to the point they are dumping good players doesnt make a ton of sense to me. But hey, iys the Knicks

As a Mavs fan it is completely trash to lose Brunson for nothing but if the Knicks wanted him that bad so be it.
Giving up all the picks required to move people and dump salary to then pay him 27.5 AVV? Whew......
JB is a rock-solid player but he is 6'2" and a former 2nd round pick due to lack of raw athleticism.
Making him a 1st option is malpractice.

At this point rather hoping MIA can get in mix and win a S&T so Mavs get some return.

He can struggle versus length around the basket but his game is plus at all 3 levels on offense and he has a very high basketball IQ.
Very strange fit with current Knicks who seem to have a massive spacing problem

They are going to do some reshaping to be compelling. They are weird team in that they have talent, but some is still developing and they may be an odd fit. They need Barrett to improve more smd Randle to get closer to 2020/21 form

should be fastest team as well.
ATL seemed to win with bigger wing-based people and rim protection surrounding Trae.

But Murray is a really good 2-way player.

His scoring efficiency isnt very good(sub 1.2 pws), but he brings alot of versatility and skill. If they keep Collins, the he Murray and Hunter should be able to get some pretty good looks with Young. Plus Murray and Young are two very facilitors

I think ultimately he will be the one to stay in Utah. I can see Miami going hard after him too. NY is going to have to reshape there roster some in the next couple years. Too many bad defeders

Take on Brunson. He’s not a lead horse and eventually this big contract will hurt his teams ability to add to the talent pool.
Love his attitude and court knowledge but limited athletically.

Its supposedly between Boston and Chicago for Gallimari at the tax payer mle. Boston wants 1 year, Chicago 2

Celtics get Brogdon from Indiana for Neismith, Theis and a 1st. This is exactly the kind of move I wanted, quality 3rd option on a team where the top 2 average 50 a night. Just sub All Star caliber player

They also added Gallinari. While I would have prefered Warren, Gallinari and Brogdon is a big boost to shooting and ancillary scoring
