NBA Playoffs Suns vs Spurs

Actually it was the NBA. I don't blame any player for wanting to protect a teammate. That is a natural instinct.

Neither he nor the other guy (Deow or something) got involved. A fine was warranted more than a suspension for the integrity of the game. Integrity was not what the NBA wanted. They wanted to flex their muscles and growl.

Sick.

I am sorry Hos

But the rule is if you come off the bench onto the floor during a fight ...... its an automatic one game suspension.

Been that way for years.

None of the guys on the Spurs bench moved on the court ...... Tim Duncan was already standing ad mid court getting ready to come back in the game ..... he went to grab Horry. The Suns had a guy that was already walking to the announce table fixin to check back in game ..... he did not get suspended either.

Zrin pwns this thread. :D

Though I do agree with Hos that the outcome of NBA games is more, shall we say, contrived than other professional sports associations. I'm still confounded that Derrick Fisher can receive an inbound pass, post up, and shoot in less than one-tenth of a second.

The key with Duncan's situation was that there was no altercation on the floor at the time.

The real person to blame in all this is Ron Artest. If it wasn't for him, then the NBA wouldn't have all these draconian rules.

Problem is when the NBA has fights people say its a league full of thugs. They need to do w/e it takes to avoid fights
Thugs slap fight? Worst fights I have ever seen are NBA.

I am not making myself clear.

I do NOT care what their rule is. The enforcement of that rule fixed a playoff series. I cannot abide that and therefore do not follow the game any more.

It could have been the exact opposite that the Suns guys did nothing and Duncan go suspended and I would feel the same. Why even play the series if you are simply going to hand it to the other team?

I have no idea if they have changed the rule or not. If they have I might one day consider watching again, but at this time I am still too disgusted by that decision to watch. I don't look down on anyone who does watch. I just will not at this time.

Fixed the series?

Wow.

I am sure there are some Steeler fans who think the NFL are fixing the games by suspending Ben.

(Yea I know that is a low blow :D )

The Spurs need to step it up or my dream of watching the Magic whoop them in the Finals will not be realized!

Of course there are.

Why should I care and how is it relevant to a 7 game series in another sport?

Exactly the point. The NBA has the lamest shouting matches and pushing contest but Stern knows it will turn off white America so he cant have it.

Thus the **** dress code

I really hate the use of that word as an adjective. It is a shame that more people do not realize the horror of **** Germany and use that word like a simple descriptor.

Thats a harsh accusation.

I choose not to pick and choose. Cancer, slave, war etc. are all used as adjectives.

Back on topic, the NBA has an image problem. Just this week Mike Francesa, NY's #1 radio guy, said that the NBA needs to outlaw tattoos. Stupid comment, but youd be surprised how many people are turned off by the NBA when they see tattoos and braids. Thus the harsh rules on fighting and escalating physical confrontations.

Tied at the half

Suns showed a lot of heart to make a game out of it.
