NBA Playoffs Suns vs Spurs

year after year its the same crap with you. the nba fixed the series by enforcing a rule:rolleyes:

makes a lot of sense
I have no intention of changing my opinion. The actions of the NBA sickened me and turned me off of the game. Not just the two teams involved but all of them.

The Rule is you cannot leave your seat and come on the floor during a fight.

The Rule is to protect the players.

And Spurs fans say mavs fans whine a lot... :lmao2:

who is whining? I am frustrated with the play of my team......I felt they had a strong chance to win the game and blew it.

Give PHX credit, they made the plays down the stretch to secure the victory. They were definitly the more clutch of the two teams in game 1.

Let me understand this...

Because I thought something was funny on the excuse they lost because they missed shots is twisting words? If I came in here and stated that for whatever type of shot was missed and if we had made it, we would have won, you guys would have had a field day with that comment.

Layups, free throws, etc are all part of the game.

i wouldnt tear you up......but you have to admit, layups are high percentage shots and should be a lot easier to make than jumpers.

my point is, if the Suns are making their jumpers, especially their 3s and the Spurs are missing their layups....it isnt a going to turn out well for SA.

What the Spurs need to do is cover the arc, which they didnt in game 1. they need to slow down the pick and roll, which they didnt in game 1. they need to play better D, which they did in spurts after the first quarter.

BTW, if you take the last 3 quarters only, the game ends in a tie. That first quarter was the difference in the game. The Spurs need to do a better job of slowing down the Suns early. They were playing catchup the entire game....and just couldnt quite get over the hump in the final moments.

exactly, a scrub at the end of the bench even said they knew the rules and were told before the season and the postseason. not the Spurs fault Amare is an idiot.

btw, Horry got a 2 game suspension for a weak hip check, where Nash basically threw himself into the boards to sell the call.....meanwhile Najera almost beheads Manu and gets no suspension.

The NBA is kind of ridiculous. If a hip check is a 2 game suspension, then what Najera did in 2 consecutive games warrants more than a 2 game suspension. Just be consistent with the punishments and fines....but the NBA isnt. I think that is one thing that frustrates Hos.

Yea ..... why would we think that.

2002-2003 Spurs beat Suns First Round 4-2 (in 6 games)
2004-2005 Spurs beat Suns Conference Finals 4-1 (in 5 games)
2006-2007 Spurs beat Suns Conference Semi-Finals 4-2 (in 6 games)
2007-2008 Spurs beat Suns First Round 4-1 (in 5 games)
2009-2010 ?

Its crazy to think the Spurs would beat the Suns in 4 or 5 games ..... :laugh2:

Your stats mean nothing with what I was having fun with. 50% of the examples you gave show one game away from maxing the series out.

I think what it boils down to is your strong belief in your team and my own beliefs in the current Suns. Why is it ok for you to think your team will win the next four and its not ok if I disagree. I simply stated I find it humorous.

Except for Tim Duncan, who in the same game made a move onto the court and turned around. Just like the 2 Suns players he never entered the fray.

It was poor judgment on the part of the Suns players, but the NBA's rigid enforcement tainted the game. Like I said, it sickened me. Literally the worst decision I have ever seen a sports league make because it fixed the series. I cannot support that. I will not support it. I am no longer a fan. I repeat I was pulling for the Spurs. It isn't personal. It is my ethics.

I understand where you're coming from. I just get tired of people (not necessarily you) that can't just give props to the better team in the game played. I was surprised actually at how good SA came back in the 3rd quarter. I definitely got a little nervous.

The Spurs are a well-oiled machine. A lot of fans have blind faith in their team and I don't have that with the Suns. I have a strong belief that we will either win this series or it will be a hard fought battle to the end.

The Suns played a really great game....they had a lot go their way....and they still were on the verge of blowing it. The Spurs will figure this out. I believe Parker starts game two. No disrespect to Hill, but in this series, Parker is the better matchup. I guarantee you Nash doesn't get half a dozen free runs in the paint in game two.

Tim was not on the bench .... he was at mid court about to enter the play.

There is no rule about that ...... just like there is none about the check man.

The NBA tried to find any loophole to not punish the Suns ..... but they could not get past their own rules.

Yet we are not calling you a homer ...... you act like its unbelievable that we would think we own the Suns ..... which I showed we have good reason.

You are always touchy about this subject.

And lost me as a fan. I used to love the NBA. Especially the Magic Johnson Showtime Lakers. Now, I couldn't care less.

Never called you a Homer either. Why so defensive? I act like it is unbelievable to think that the Spurs are going to win the next four like you state. Why should everyone agree with you?

Why can't you just accept the fact that if you state something, another person just can't say "unbelievable"! Is it really that hard to accept? Talk about touchy-I've offered good will on here to both teams and have had good things to say about opposing teams always on this thread. You on the other hand don't and that's fine by me. Just ironic coming from you to make that comment.

Wow-I'm frankly honored to see you go in the basement and open all those old musty boxes to find a thread from over two years ago! Hold grudges much?

I reread that post and it didn't seem right. I don't talk like that so I scrolled up and reread the past threads. I had responded to your links by the quotes from Suns fans on those and the ones I continued from further up on that thread. Take a look for yourself and uh, please be more accurate if you're going to try and dig old stuff up for no reason.

what you have shown is a bunch of sissies like Allen, Terry, Stackhouse and Carter crying......about Bruce.

THIS is a thread farther down AFTER I posted that showing I had copied and pasted quotes from other people's comments on Bowen videos-NOT MINE.

I just put a link to something you said to me .... I never talked to you like that.

And no I do not hold a grudge ..... only saw that thread while I was looking for a discussion that me and Hostile had about the Nash flop/Horry incident years ago.

I already understand why you get so bent out of shape because I posted the history of the two teams.

;)

I don't know what makes this series more fun- hearing blind homerism or claiming the Spurs are actually going to win the next four games.

Lol. Incorrect. You read me poorly. I started this thread with a "let the best team win" mentality. You got bent out of shape because I commented it was unbelievable and humorous to think the Spurs would win four in a row. Dang dude just relax. It'll be alright. :)
