The trade includes this years #4 pick in the draft this Thursday.

I know. My point was the rule about not trading consecutive picks isn't enforced retroactively, thus the 2 first round picks could have been as early as 2020 and 2022. We found out otherwise later.

3 draft picks seems like a lot on paper but in reality it isn't that much considering 2 of them will most likely be in the 20s.

Boston has 3 first round picks in this years draft and they probably couldn't get into the top 5 if they packaged them in a trade.

We may find out what it will take for them to get into the top 5. Supposedly they are very interested in acquiring 4 because they really like Garland. I suspect you are right though
