Holy crap.

Justin Houston just signed for $52.5 million guaranteed in Kansas City. Wow.

He really struggles with basic math.

$13MM in 2015 + $15MM in 2016 + $40MM in a long term deal in 2017 = $78MM

$0MM in 2015 + $0MM in 2016 + $40MM in a long term deal in 2017 = $40MM

Huh?

Someone struggles with longevity of commitment.

1 year or 7 years

I think it was Rappaport that said that he would be the easiest.

BTW...4 hours left.

Sure, when you pay him like he's Lawrence Taylor. Geez.

Kansas City has too many holes to be dumping that much on a linebacker.

No need to worry. They still don't have a QB.

these guys have a good year and they want millions more, I sort of wonder what they think they were being paid for to begin with ??
Dez played good, but isnt that what they were paying him for?
The NE kicker also got the tag lol and he signed.

Justin Houston got extra late money because some teams were considering giving him an offer sheet. That would have sacrificed two first round picks, but Kansas City paid more to keep him. Or so the word is.

That could be true. Pass Rushers are a premium and Houston is one of the best in the business right now. It is interesting though. This might be what we can expect to pay for Hardy once his contract is up next year.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Media's Rand Getlin were told by sources involved in the negotiation that since Tuesday night, the Cowboys have increased their offer to Bryant beyond the $13 million per year threshold, an improvement over the $12.82 million he would make this season by signing his franchise tag.
The Pro Bowl wideout has expressed more optimism than ever before that a deal will get done, Rapoport was told. Nothing has been finalized, but the sides have been in constant contact and making a strong push as the clock ticks down.
Rapoport noted Tuesday evening that there was "a lot of ground to make up" as Bryant still sought a pact in the neighborhood Calvin Johnson's annual $16 million price tag. Crossing that threshold remains a long shot, but it appears the sides are approaching a figure that everyone can agree on.

Yeah, if Hardy does well and stays out of trouble, he will be priced out of the Cowboys range, especially if Dez signs.

Rumor is its a 5 year deal, if that's the case it's not a Cowboys for life kind of deal. Dez would be 31 after the contract is up
