Back up 10 years. Almost nobody - in college or the pros - went for it on fourth down in a tied game, in easy FG range...absent an end-of-game situation. Now, everybody's doing it.

It's like the idiotic kickoff deferral. For eons, when you won the coin toss, you took the ball. You WANT your offense to possess the ball, right? Possession is the point of the game. Again, the alleged football brain-trust have outsmarted themselves to think that it's better to play defense first.
