Rumor is that Detroit is willing to trade Suh before the deadline since they know he is as good as gone after this year...................the asking price is a 2nd round pick that could become a 1st round pick if Suh meets certain criteria (# of sacks, probowl, ect....)

Assuming this rumor is true, do you guys call up Detroit and accept their trade proposal?

we then have to take his cap hit for the rest of the season and I don't know if we could

Are you referring to his full $22 million cap hit for this season? About half of that is in the form of bonus money. I'm not sure any team has to pick up all or any of the bonus money portion. I guess it depends on the way the bonuses are specified. The $11 million in base salary will be prorated over the remaining games, so that portion is cut in half for any team that wants him.

I don't think Dallas will or should trade for Suh. If they did I don't think the cap hit this year will be an obstacle.

Could we afford him with the cap and all the players on our team looking to sign? I think we'll go draft for the D-line

Oct 28 is the date. He would have 8 games left I believe. So that would be 5.5 million. What is our cap right now?

Suh and Sam DT & DE

and some want to grab AP so we have he and DEZ on offense. We might not win but we will make headlines

Precisely why we don't need it. The Michael Sam stuff lasted 5 minutes as it should have, because he was on the practice squad.

Suh would definitely not be on the PS. And the media would be like sharks in the water. Peterson will not wear a Cowboys uniform as long as Jason Garrett is the head coach, IMO.

He's not that impactful. No defensive tackle is.

LOL are you kidding me?? Do you realize Detroit has the NUMBER ONE defense in the entire NFL?? Why do you think that is, because of their superstar secondary??? No, its because of their DLINE, and who is the best player on that Lions DLine?? NDAMUKONG SUH! The guy is an absolute FORCE on that line, literally an IMMOVABLE OBJECT, no one can block that man with one person. And while he might not rack up the sacks, he penetrates up the field very well and is an IMMOVABLE OBJECT in the running game, i mean teams just do not run against the Lions and the main reason is Suh. I say if he is willing to come here and MAYBE think about a backloaded deal or do something that will still allow us to re-sign Dez, Rolando, maybe Murray, maybe Carter, and a couple others, then bring him the **** in! A second round pick for arguably the best DT in the game who is only 27 years old is a ROBBERY!

It's a bad idea to give up premium draft picks AND salary cap space. He would require a huge contract. Good teams either spend big money on free agents or use draft picks to get inexpensive young player, but don't use both big cap space and draft picks on the same player.

Yeah, that's it. Run your team based on people who are concerned about their business of being a single business.

For all of the fans who are presently watching the team and its make up I would like to ask how Suh fits into that piece of the puzzle?

We have already had great talents come to this team and were all about themselves. In the words of the immortal Dr. Phil, "How did that work out for you?"

Suh is a huge risk to a team that is built on playing hard, no guts, no glory and representing the team and the teammates in the right way.

You can bring him in, but I think you bring down the entire foundation as the young unknown players are dazzled by his presence. Unsung and quiet heroes of the team like Witten couldn't steer the young guys from that influence.

It would be another Owens deal and we all know how that went with the Sam Hurds and Patrick Craytons of the locker room.

Nice! Suh is a player, but he is not what this team needs to go where they want to go. One bad apple can spoil the whole lot.

Haley did not come in during the season, he was with the Cowboys during training camp. Suh would have to fit in with this teams philosophy, which I don't think he would. If Suh wants to join the Cowboys next season and endure traing camp and bond with the team, maybe. But not in the middle of the season.

Completely disagree.

Not everything is always going to be perfect or structured.

He is a seasoned vet.

Send him in.... Send him after the QBs. No one eske is doing it.

Nothing to lose here.

Oh, and... I don't care ... I want him anyway.

Well, if you want him, go get him! lol Hey, somehow the Cowboys would trade for him, I'm on board. But, I doubt it would happen.

Exactly. See Charles Haley. If he was in the league now and the stunts he pulled off in the locker room occurred in today's NFL he would be out of the league. You can't build a team with Charles Haley.

You can build a collection of individuals, but you can't build a team.

Funny how your example with Charles is conveniently based on what he does on the game field. Your fandom reveals that it is all about the on field game performance when the current Cowboys success if predicated on what happens off the game field. They focus on the person and the practice and how it rolls up to the game. Not the other way around.

I don't think your version of success in a today's NFL would work with this current Cowboys locker room.
