Need clarification on Bill Cowher's comment on CBS Pregame Show

Vermeil is only one I can think of, you have any other coaches that won a SB, retired and came back?
Seriously, isn't that a question worth asking yourself before stating "never works"?

I though what he mean't was basically no coach has ever won the Superbowl with 2 teams.

Vermeil lost with Philly won with the Rams.

Parcells won 2 with NYG and lost with NE.

Shula lost with the Colts but won with Miami.

I can't think of anymore.

Sorry, had I known the Literal Police were on duty I would have rephrased.

Thanks Officer...

Cowher is a very good coach. But I see no reason to have him here. Landry couldn't win the big game or SB himself at one time. Until he did. Wade has this defense playing as well as any defense most of you have ever seen around here. And it is arguably as good as some of our best. Add one more rusher on the LOS and get back our safeties and this will be among the best Dallas has ever seen.

What needs to change is STs and the offense needs to get a lot more dependable and consistent. If that is a vote of no-confidence in Wade then ok. I'd give him another year though.

No just a fan who realizes that recycling old Super Bowl coaches never works...

Okay, so I'm the "Literal Police" because you said something wrong and I pointed out your mistake. You're welcome.

Dan Reeves? Didnt he take the Broncos and the Falcons to the sb? lost with both teams.

I think it would be a huge load off alot of players shoulders to have T.O. removed from the locker room......as many people here who are sick of the T.O. circus....just imagine how the players feel......

im not saying T.O. has done anything wrong...that would get the T.O. apologist reason to rise up.....im saying im sick of the circus that follows T.O.....he has become the face of this franchise and its not the face i want...i believe if he werent here then Romo and Garrett would put together a more diverse game plan....instead they know they have to make sure T.O. stays happy......its been proven over the last 10 years of Super Bowls that you dont need a elite reciever to win the championships...you need chemistry ......good chemistry.

There's a ;little thing called the salary cap that makes cutting TO stupid.

Surely he isn't that stupid.

There's a little thing called capless 2010 which makes it possible.

Anybody that listens to the guy has to really question how he ever got an NFL coaching job. He says some of the dumbest things.

nobody is ever going to convince me he isnt vastly overrated as a HC

everybody thinks because he is a spit faced neanderthal on the sideline that he's a great coach, but he really hasnt done alot...if that super bowl wouldnt have been so poorly officiated, he'd have nothing

I turned to the show during the middle of the panel's conversation concerning, I believe, needed changes for teams they felt had to improve in the future. It was at this point that I caught Bill Cowher's comments on Dallas. If I'm correct, Cowher stated that with the number of healthy offensive players coming back in '09 with Jason Witten, Marion Barber, Felix Jones, etc., Terrell Owens was expendable in that mix. He also stated that (not a quote), "It would be better for Dallas not to bring back Owens since it isn't necessary for the team/offense to please one particular player with that many weapons". Did anyone else catch that discussion?

I think he said something about people from NE Louisiana.

I wasn't clear on what he said, but sensed from the tone it wasn't flattering.:p:

He's definitely overrated by a lot of folks. I agree. If and when he lands somehwere, he'll be overpaid - for certain.

Just because you have a lot of weapons doesn't mean you should get wide of the best WR you've had in a decade.

Yes by all means... CUT TO.

Cut the guy that gives you double digit TD's EVERY YEAR.

Cowher is funny. He got rid of Plaxico and won the SB. If not for the worst ever officiated game in NFL history... no I didnt say in SB history... in the all the games I have ever seen in the NFL. = He loses that SB.

Then he doesnt look like such a genius.

By him saying that... maybe he doesnt want to coach Dallas... who knows? Maybe he is pulling a preemptive strike in pre-negotiations with Jerry. :D

He can always change what he said LATER. When he becomes our HC.

I said it then and I will say it now. T.O. is a cancer that eats a team from the inside. Cut him, trade him, whatever it takes but he has metastisized and needs chemotherapy.
