Neither Cowboys playoff scenarios are ideal

If the Cowboys truly deserve to be in the Super Bowl this season then it shouldn't matter who they play.

A true champion isn't afraid to play anyone.

If the Cowboys are that team then it will be very satisfying to watch them .make Brady look old and tired, then jump all over the 49ers and their rookie quarterback while finally settling the question as to what happens when the Cowboys and Eagles both have their starting QB's.

We will know what kind of team the Cowboys have in their first playoff game drive. Look for a team with the right level of intensity and focus.

Love this mindset.

The team does not fear any other team.
It is some of the fans on here than posts the same thing about Brady and Rodgers. And now the Eagles for some reason. Oh, and SF.
They fear an ant on the field it seems.

Completely disagree. I want both or either. If we can't beat them, then we weren't good enough anyway.

I simply cannot/refuse to hope for weaker opponents. I want to play the best and knock their peepees in the dirt.
I’ve never understood not rooting for more favorable situations or opponents which arguably improve our opportunities for success.

You’re actually going to root for the better teams to win in playoffs making our road tougher ? Makes no sense to me.

I know what you’re saying. But if we are one and done again, it will be difficult not to blame MM. I think he needs to win at least one game. Hopefully we can make it to the NFC championship so I can start to believe once again.
I suppose it’s more about perspective.

Not sure why we wouldn’t provide more credit for MM for consecutive playoff appearances instead of blaming him for losing once in?

And why would it all be on him instead of personnel?

We have draft capital and WE ARE the Cowboys still. Imagine what having McVay here would do luring players.
The Cowboys are the least desirable coaching job by proven HC who want control , unless their phone isn’t ringing.

I get what you're saying. But the Dallas is a circus narrative really hasn't been true for a number of years. Yes we have eccentric owners (who are generally well liked/regarded around the league). We get a lot of spotlight (which megalomania coaches love).

We have a roster that looks pretty good on paper with a great QB number 1 WR and a defensive player who will be in DPOY conversations for years to come.....and he's not a one man band at that.

If Jerry and team wanted to go in another direction there would be many a suitor. Not that they should or will....but if they did...
No, the Cowboys are still mostly a puppet situation that most proven HC that demand control wouldn’t be interested unless their phone isn’t ringing.

Some of you are way too preoccupied with seeding. Just be happy the Cowboys made the playoffs. When Dak went down in the opener everyone was preparing for a top 10 pick in April.

If we can't beat Tampa then this team has many, many problems...Tampa is not a good team and Brady is inconsistent more than ever...Slow the run and limit Evans on D. On offence use Pollard as the main offensive weapon out of the backfield, target Lamb and Hilton and don't turn the ball over...
Yes, Tampa is down this year but Brady is still capable of strong performances and miracle finishes. It’s a matchup I’d prefer to avoid.

If we stay at the 5th seed then we must go to Tampa and face the GOAT. Even with Tampa down this year the QB we have never beat has shown some sparks of greatness down the stretch.

And if Egirls lose , assuming Whiners don’t lose then we’d end up with 2nd seed and most likely face the Packers and Rodgers at home . Another matchup we’d rather not see even with GB down this year but playing well down the stretch.

Reaching the #1 seed is least likely scenario . We’d need the current top seeds to both lose today.

My hunch is both current top seeds win today. And Packers fill #7 seed with with only change in current standings .

GB goes to SF
NY at Minn
Dall at Tampa
We made our own path more difficult losing 2 very winnable games against GB and the Jags.
Now we suffer the consequences.
Now we see what this team is made of

First of all I don’t think Peyton will be available . And not sure either Sean’s would be interested in this puppetry position unless no other offers come available.

I’d argue what MM has done is enough to continue on. And he stays perfectly in line with our dysfunctional ownership ways which is a huge part of the equation here.
How bout if we lose our first playoff game?

Playing a January playoff game on the road in Florida against a 500 team is a golden opportunity for a #5 seed. All the voodoo mystique surrounding Brady is about 5 years too late. He is now a mediocre QB and won't be the reason the Cowboys lose. Quite frankly, they don't belong in he playoffs if they can't beat the Bucs.

Looks like all 4 of our losses will be to playoff teams.

The bigger story this season is winning 4 games without our starting QB.

Never count out the heart of a Champion. Especially the GOAT. And no shame in losing.

If GB gets in and Dallas goes to Tampa, I see a clean sweep by NFC Wildcard teams. The Giants beat Minny. Rodgers beats Purdy. The Cowboys finally get Brady.
In this scenario, the Pack would play the Eagles and we get the GMen…I think.
