You seem to think, I am a DC hater. Batman is my favorite superhero. Supes is a close 2nd, followed by Wolverine. I thought GOtG was going to be a big flop.
I never considered you a "DC hater."

I can respect your order of preference concerning Batman, Superman and Wolverine. All are major hitters in Marvel or DC.

You're not the only person who thought Guardians Of The Galaxy would fail. I know I was really anxious before it came out. The people behind the movie decided to give it a comedic edge, hired a very good cast, and the plot was sensible. The movie ended up a win-win for the studios and audiences alike.
IMO, MoS<Superman Returns.
The majority of paid movie critics agree with you. The majority of audiences? Not so much. :)

Only time will tell but I think overall popularity of Man of Steel will continue to grow on cable, Blu-ray, etc while Superman Returns will remain static or decrease. The current rebroadcasting of both movies favors MoS but that could be more because MoS is the more recent movie of the two. None of this matters in the opinion of paid movie critics and some of the two films' audience. Just mentioning how the larger segment of the audience may view both movies down the road.

Superman Returns has been all over HBO the last couple weeks. Still think Routh is a better Superman. I think Singer tried to do too much.

I think Singer tried to do too many cute tributes and nods to previous Superman incarnations instead of focusing on a good story.

I like Routh, but I thought he was doing an impression of Reeve instead of just acting. I like him as Ray Palmer on Arrow.

I like the premise of the film, from what I have seen. People turning on Super Man is a nice twist.

I would make the same claim about Man of Steel being on multiple channels recently with the way my wife constantly scans our Directv channel guide without stopping on anything in particular (and then switches over to Netflix :( :p ) Then again I checked tvguide.com for any listings in the next two weeks and got nada on MoS. :D

I don't get the appeal of Brandon Routh's acting ability. I would agree that his Superman was better than his Clark Kent in Superman Returns though. He made a guest star appearance during last season's The Flash. He seems very stiff in his delivery. I haven't seen him play a good number of roles, so my analysis is very limited.

I rank the Superman actors as 1) Reeve, 2) Cavill, and 3) Routh based on the era of the movies. I wish both Reeve and Cavill had an opportunity to play the same role in MoS to compare both actors equally. Reeve's onscreen presence was very strong in my opinion. I think he could have done well in today's movies as a young actor. There is still that chance I would change my mind and go with Cavill. I'm certain I would still pick Reeve first if the reverse happened and Cavill played in the original Superman movie. The first movie was more methodically created. That would have hampered Cavill's more modern acting skills I think.

I am in 100% agreed with you about Singer. He has been a big disappointment for me. I had high hopes that he could do wonders with Superman after doing X-Men I and II. He had so MUCH material to work with, decades of stories, heroes, villains, etc. to cobble together a fresh script that would become a landmark film of the new millenium. What audiences got was Lex Luther rehashed. I do give him a lot of credit for the piano scene. That was priceless.

Getting back to actors, did you prefer Kate Bosworth's Lois over Amy Adams's Lane? It's strange to me how people prefer Routh over Cavill but I do understand it. On the other hand, I thought Adams's portrayal was far superior to Bosworth's.

You hit the nail on the head about Singer's work on Superman Returns.

I should really catch up on Arrow. There's something about the show that doesn't win me completely over. It would serve me well to do so. I'm a big fan of The Flash. Both shows will continue crossing over with each other and there's the new CW spinoff series to consider also.

Superman Returns is just tough to watch. Routh and Spacey are the only bright spots.
For a long time I have wondered what Spacey could have done with the role if he could have played it more seriously. More dramatically. Spacey has the acting chops to have made Luther truly sinister, like John Doe in Seven sinister. He did as well playing Luther as Gene Hackman did originally. I bet he could have taken the character to another level, not unlike Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight.

Neither had chemstry, charm or charisma with supes.
Margot still wins.

Amateur hour is being about 5 years behind the Marvel model, and still not getting it right.

Let's face it: If Marvel doesn't make Avengers, then we are not getting this movie. Marvel is acting, DC is reacting. If Batman v. Superman is a good movie, people will watch it and want more. If not, they won't. Unfortunately, it has been over 30 years since we've seen a good Superman movie. Hopefully this will reverse that trend.

Okay. The Batman vs Superman trailer has 20 million+ views in one weekend, and the buzz is unanimously positive. It's safe to say people are excited to see it.

I'm not even sure why you're trying to make this a Marvel vs DC thing. Who cares about action vs reaction, it all comes down to whether the movies are quality.

It's not like every Marvel movie has been stellar. I don't want Marvel to stop making movies because Ironman 2 sucked.

Margot Kidder over Kate Bosworth? No argument there.

Margot Kidder over Amy Adams? Margot Kidder over Oscar nominated, multiple Golden Globe winner Amy Adams? Margot Kidder over Amy "I am a Pultizer Prize winning reporter who can actually figure out Superman's secret identity" Adams? Margot Kidder over Amy "You know I don't have bipolar disease right" Adams?

Okay.

I got a more masculine approach from Bosworth, where as a Feminine from Adams.

Okay.

No connection.
None.
Cold as ice.

Not believable as Lois.

Given the option I would've switched the impressions, especially considering Adams' line about her matching men's genitalia early in MoS. :p

For some crazy reason when I read your reply I keep remembering Kidder's line of "You got me??? Who's got you???" :D We agree to disagree. I respect your opinion.

Okay.

Yeah, every time. I hate Adams acting. Her voice over in American Hustle is God awful. Feels like shes reading fro, a page, her voice doesn't project well.
