I'm sure there will be more votes for Kidder.

It may be the kid in me, since I grew up with Kidder... but she was tough, vulnerable, had good comedic timing.... she was great for that era of Superman, since he was all those things as well..... I don't know how she would hold up to todays "Darker Superman", or That love stuck "Superman Returns" thingamajig.

I think Kidder could pull off the the tough/vulnerable acting dynamic pretty well in today's films. She would need to update the comedic aspect somewhat. The humor is more dry and sarcastically done now.

I personally don't mind her... but she didn't share the limelight imo. I do however think Ms Adams is a solid actress, not to mention a cute redhead.
I think the storyline and the updated relationship of Kent and Lane had somewhat to do with them not hogging MoS limelight. Kidder's role was more reminiscent (sp?) of professional women in her era's feminist movement. Her role demonstrated to the audience how a professional woman was persevering in a male dominanted workplace. Her tenacity was to convince other co-workers she was independent. Adams' role was more a reflection of today's professional woman. She recognizes barriers but also knows she has overcome them and doesn't care if her peers resent her independence. Kidder "needed" Reeve more than Adams "needed" Cavill. Just a sign of the times. There was less need for the latter pair to share the limelight required for the first pair.

I agree with this... doesn't change how I enjoyed the character.

For some crazy reason when I read your reply I keep remembering Kidder's line of "You got me??? Who's got you???" :D We agree to disagree. I respect your opinion.

Yup. That was her "leave the gun, make the cannoli" line of her career. (One ad libbed of course)

Respect. As do I.

We are comic geeks. Take pride in that! Lol

Yeah, every time. I hate Adams acting. Her voice over in American Hustle is God awful. Feels like shes reading fro, a page, her voice doesn't project well.

Not a fan of her at all either. I think she's terrible, and never more terrible than in Man of Steel. I have no idea how or why she was ever cast in the role.

In related news, the first trailer for Suicide Squad is out.

How in the world will this garner a PG-13? Or do they even want it to? Needless to say, it looks pretty bad-hiney.
