New Defensive Coordinator?

We have options and we'll be a very attractive team for many who are looking for a job.

Steve Wilks
Gregg Williams
Todd Bowls

These are guys who all coordinated good defenses and also have HC experiences.

I think what you just said is not well thought out at all! There are a ton of X players who become successful HC and Coordinators.

Personally, I hope Lee is able to stay healthy( I know not likely ) for a few more years and play for us, and then join the coaching staff.

Whatever

I assume you meant Marinelli instead of Linehan, but I think it all depends on whether Lee would be willing to retire from playing. I suspect he won't be willing to do that, but who knows? I honestly don't see him as a future head coach because he is so soft spoken and seemingly not the kind of guy who wants to be in the spotlight, which goes with the territory. I think he would be a great LB coach, and maybe eventually a D-Coordinator, but I don't know that one season would be enough to prepare him for that.
Correct I meant Marinelli... that is what happens when you type something so early in the morning...lol. I appreciate your opinion and would love to have Lee continue playing but all the injuries have piled up and he seems to really love being around the game and helping the other defensive players...I do not think its that hard to imagine him coaching the defense. It may be too soon but I think he has the ability to be the Def. Coordinator.

So you're assuming because he can play, he obviously can coach? It takes a lot of training to be able to ciach/ teach? So I change my original statement to this is by far the dumbest plans ever.

Lee has already stated publicly that he is not interested in retiring after this year. He would like to continue to play, even if that's not in Dallas. I doubt he's ready to hang it up just yet.

If Richard leaves.....

Crazy Idea... SEAN LEE as the asst. defensive coordinator.

Pay him to coach next season. Not sure if this takes his salary off the salary cap if he retires? He is a student of the game. Keep Linehan around for one season to prepare him to take over fully the following year. Eventually I could see him as the future Head coach.

What do you think?

Promote Ben Bloom. Has done amazing job with LBs.

Today I learned that Linehan is the DC......well that sure explains alot!

We just need a DC that the players buy into and that can force turnovers, I'm really shocked we don't cause more turnovers with the speed we have on defense. Back in the 90's our D wasn't the best but we had strippers, meaning a D who gang tackle and strip for the balls. A couple turnovers a game in the opponents territory leads to a lot more easy victories I sure know that

If the DC cheerleaders will buy into this, put me down for (1) season ticket. Obviously, I'll be leaving the wifey home alone since she's not a fan of the 'Stripper Pole Defense' that you've suggested.

I do like where you're mind is at bro...I really do.
