Now why would Romo's broken collarbone sideline him for the rest of the 2010 season but Foles' broken collarbone here wouldn't sideline Foles for the 2014 season? Different kind of injury?

If memory serves me correctly, Romo could have played late that year, but the Cowboys were out of the playoff picture so there was no point.

That's exactly my point. I see them losing a close one against Carolina. Followed by a route at GB and everyone will be screaming for Foles return.

I agree. If Foles' collarbone is broken, he won't be coming back for a minimum of 6 weeks, I would think (I'm no expert on that stuff, just my guess).

Not hard to thow screen passes and hand the ball off to a running back. Hopefully he does stink it up, I'm just not putting all of my eggs in that basket.

Its pretty hard to fumble off the rear of a lineman as well. At least Sanchez makes that look easy!

Yeah the butt fumble was embarrassing but hilarious at the same time, but I think people are being blinded by that play and casting him off as a guy who can't play at all because of it, which is not the case.

No, he can't play. I watched him every year he's been in the league, including every Jet playoff game. They won in spite of him.

He may not be "that bad" considering it's Chip's system, but he is a terrible QB. If they manage to win the division then Chip should be a candidate for Coach of the Year because Mark is terrible.

Nah the butt fumble was just the icing on the cake.

If Sanchez was good. Or had any shroud of goodness in him, then he'd be a Jet. Plain and simple.

He had 4 years to show the Jets something. Anything.

A back-up QB comes in and plays good because the HC knows his strengths and weaknesses. Guess what, Carolina is going to look at every one of his plays over the last 4 years this week and figure out that Sanchez can't throw to he left, or he's sloppy when throwing on the run, or he can't handle the blitz.

9-7 here they come.

I'm not overestimating Sanchez or under selling Nick Foles, I think they're both average. It's the system of Chip Kelly's that I'm buying. If you put Nick Foles on the Jets he would look just as bad as any other QB that they've had, the guy is mediocre at best.

Honestly, you're overestimating Sanchez by a fair bit if you think he's average.

I agree with you on Chip's system, though. It's a good one.

Chip Kelly's system will make him serviceable, trust me, he knows his limitations and won't put him in too many positions to be the Jet's version of Mark Sanchez. I think he'll make him serviceable.

It's not about Sanchez, it's about how Chip Kelly will use him in his system, that's all I'm saying. He's not going to be the same Sanchez that we saw in NY.

over a period of 6 weeks, Sanchez in this offensive system in Philly probably gives them an 80 quarterback rating. That's the best case scenario. So similar the what Foles gave them this season. Don't expect a huge drop off.

For me, it's one of those 'irresistible force' v. 'incompetent object' questions. I guess we'll see.

Either way, though, I also trust Kelly to have read his QB situation correctly enough to know that losing your starting QB is not a net positive for that PHI team. Sanchez might hit a groove in the offense and suddenly start playing better than he's shown in camp and through the early part of the season to-date, but if he does, it means his level of play has changed from what his coaches have seen in the offense so far. It's more likely he's a step down from Foles, and possibly a significant step down from Foles.

Chip won't change anything, no matter who is behind center. That's how arrogant he is.

Possibly, Foles has his strengths that Sanchez doesn't, but Sanchez is a little more mobile than Foles, which can work in Chip Kelly's system. Maybe I'm wrong about this and he will stink it up, I just don't think he will.

The Eagles bigger loss could be losing Ryan's at MLB. Best player on their D.

Weeden didn't look bad in preseason and for part of one game, either...

There's a big difference between looking pretty good and consistently looking like the best QB in camp. Like I said, we'll see, but I don't think Sanchez is the slouch the Jets made him look to be. Hope I'm wrong.

Them losing Foles is a big loss. The guy has them top 5 in practically every offensive category except rushing, which was part of their problem. Most of their offensive line has been out the first part of the year and are set to return intact next week.

I assume the running game will be their bread and butter again, like last year, but don't minimize the Foles injury.

Sanchez on his best day is not as good as Foles on his worst.

Losing Ryan's will also hurt them. He's not their most talented defensive player, but he calls the plays and captains their defense.

I agree that he's probably not as bad as the NYJ made him look, but I don't think he'll come in and be better than Foles, either. Actually, I think he'll be a small step down. Like you said, we'll see...real soon.
