Never mind the so-so record in Tampa... He scowls and cusses and stuff.
Shanahan and Sean Payton both are alumni of Eastern Illinois like Romo.Chocolate Lab;2580679 said:Broaddus on Gruden:
-- Worked with him at Philly when he was QB coach and Broaddus scouted for them.
-- Very hard working and innovative, but goes through QBs like crazy. Can't make up his mind on them, and not the best at developing them. Loved Bobby Hoying in Philly.
-- Is one of those guys that people get tired of in about three years. Kind of an odd bird, and all the energy and the "attaboys" are followed by complaining and even backstabbing. (Not said with malice, but matter-of-factly.)
-- Thinks Shanahan would be a better choice here because he'd be better at developing Romo.
Now Mosley comes on after making some calls to Valley Ranch and says we let Garrett go. Says if RJ goes, this makes Valley Ranch think hard about Shanahan.

Just heard on NFL Network.

I could see Jerra getting interested on this turn of events.
I hope Jerra makes his move.
History will record that when Shanahan, Gruden and Spagnuolo were available, he passed and kept . . . gasp! the Clown Wade Phillips.

If the choice is between Gruden and Sherman/Wade, my answer is Gruden.

I'd stick with Garrett because at least we will stay aggressive on offense and run the ball a lot more than we would with Gruden.
CATCH17;2580707 said:This is an explosive team and you'd be hiring a guy that gets away from the run and dinks and dunks the entire game.

InmanRoshi;2580722 said:Uhm, as someone who's had Joey Galloway and Antonio Bryant on my fantasy team the last few years, I would have to decisively say they in fact do not run dinks and dunks the entire game.
They just don't run 7 step drops and 30 yard routes downfield on 3rd and 2 like Boy Genius did.

Its what he does and its been one of the biggest complaints about him for years.
His offensives are overly conservative and he goes away from the run.
I agree Dallas needs more short passes in their offense but getting Gruden would mean selling out to that philosiphy.
