Based on what movies? Other than the 1st SM movie, the original 1989 Batman and TDK, what does DC have?

Well there is the fact that those are 3 of the undisputed best comic book movies of all time. And this Man of Steel looks to be up in that category.

I can't even attribute any of the superhero movies to either brand. I just enjoy them if they are good, not so much if they are bad.

People will argue about anything and there always needs to be some sort of superior when it comes to the internet. Don't get it.

IMO TDK and Ironman 1 are the best superhero movies to date.

Based on star quality alone, you have Russell Crow, Kevin Costner, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishurne, it certainly has a quality cast.

I love Supes so I'll check it out regardless.

it promises to be a good movie but...

sorry guys

MARVEL >>>>>>> DC (in comics and in movies)

that is the order of the universe and DC fans just have to learn to be second best

the X Men and ironman movies blow out all other superhero movies

i like superman but my problem with the character is that he is just so powerful that no foe can defeat him and so you have to find things like kryptonite to artificially create a weakness

when his father says "in time they will join you" i can only assume he means in a billion years or so when humans develop super powers otherwise what does that even mean?

No comic book hero can be defeated. Even most villains don't truly get defeated as they come back over and over to pester the heroes.

No, he is talking about character. It isn't about having powers, but having certain characteristics that propel one to a good life. Superman will just be an inspiration, but humans won't need any powers of their own to join him.

You've been saying it alone.

It doesn't have to be either/or.

Both is better.

He was right in between the 70s and 80s but ever since the turn of the century Marvel started kicking but. CGI development really helped.

Are you talking about movies or comics?

Marvel started kicking butt in comics in the 90s, not the turn of the century. In terms of movies, no Marvel movie or group of movies can be considered as good at the Nolan trilogy.

Regardless, I can't fathom why any fan of either wouldn't also be a fan of the other. It's not a zero sum game. If you only like Marvel or only like DC stuff, then you're missing out and sucks to be you.

Agreed, what i meant is that no foe can even hope to provide real competition (to make it interesting) so stuff like kryptonite has to be created

sure superman can be an inspiration but a 'pie-in-the-sky' inspiration at best

there is a reason why the greatest leaders (and even the prophets of leading religions) had weaknesses and "human failings" because that makes it easier to relate and there is little more inspirational than overcoming one's weaknesses to do what is right

no human can hope to 'relate' to superman

having said that, i am a fan of superman, i love both Marvel and DC
as Theogt said... why pick one when you can have both
