Are you talking about movies or comics?

Marvel started kicking butt in comics in the 90s, not the turn of the century. In terms of movies, no Marvel movie or group of movies can be considered as good at the Nolan trilogy.

Regardless, I can't fathom why any fan of either wouldn't also be a fan of the other. It's not a zero sum game. If you only like Marvel or only like DC stuff, then you're missing out and sucks to be you.

you could definately argue that, i personally agree that TDK trilogy is the best comic "movie" out there, but marvel has several really good movies, while DC really only has TDK (recent movies).

it promises to be a good movie but...

sorry guys

MARVEL >>>>>>> DC (in comics and in movies)

that is the order of the universe and DC fans just have to learn to be second best

the X Men and ironman movies blow out all other superhero movies

i like superman but my problem with the character is that he is just so powerful that no foe can defeat him and so you have to find things like kryptonite to artificially create a weakness

when his father says "in time they will join you" i can only assume he means in a billion years or so when humans develop super powers otherwise what does that even mean?

Finally! ^^^This^^^

Marvel went for the fun angle with most of the Avengers series. I hope if we get a JL movie, it's more like Nolan Batman's and what this one seems to be like also.

You've been saying it alone.

It doesn't have to be either/or.

Both is better.

Find I will be the lone DC fan. I'm the fan the world deserves, but not the one it needs right now. http://i1072.***BLOCKED***/albums/w378/NathanBrassil/f9c670ab-6175-4bf3-b7f0-7887843430c5_zps03cb30dc.jpg

That's just it, you're not alone.

I like DC stuff too and really enjoyed the Dark Knight trilogy.

Genuinely disappointed Nolan turned down the JLA movie opportunity.

But it's possible, to like both and not have to bash one while praising the other.

That way I have more to enjoy.

You should try it.

This is why DC's sad-sack attempt to copy Marvel's Avengers and get a Justice League movie going is proving to be a laughable failure. Marvel has brilliantly structured their characters in such a way that their powers are comparable. Thor and Iron Man are powerful, but not ridiculously invulnerable, fast, etc. Whereas DC's problem is that their two most popular and well-known characters, Batman and Superman, just can't exist in the same movie in a coherent, intelligent way.

EDIT: In DC's defense, it not their fault that their most popular characters, each created roughly 75 years ago, inhabit entirely different worlds. I'm just saying that that's one of the main reasons why a Justice League movie will never work.

The Nolan trilogy is overrated. If Heath Ledger was still alive, The Dark Knight (which is the only good one out of the 3) would be seen as just another good-but-not-great superhero movie.

No, he is talking about character. It isn't about having powers, but having certain characteristics that propel one to a good life. Superman will just be an inspiration, but humans won't need any powers of their own to join him.

This

People do not understand that Superman is a hero in spite of his powers ..... not because of them.

The only hero that comes close to Superman in virtue is Captain America.

That is what really makes him a hero.

You have so much wrong and laughable in your last two posts in this thread there isn't much time wasting arguing with you. You are just flat wrong.

That's ok, no argument with me can be made. Although I will concede that the first half of Batman Begins is pretty darn decent, but the movie devolves once the origin story is completed (very much like the original Superman, only that movie didn't devolve as much).

There's nothing brilliantly structured about the Hulk or Captain America or Thor movies, or the Black Widow or Hawkeye characters.

They made a bunch of movies that referred to each other and led up to a team up movie. They made a bunch of money in the process. None of the Marvel movies are of particular merit in terms of filmmaking or story telling. But they're fun as hell to watch.
