If you're beat you probably don't have a good chance of mugging the receiver.![]()
lol this is very true

I don't play college ball but if I did, I'd also mug any WR that beat me past 15 yards
Interference should still be a spot foul if it's egregious. If the guy just grabs the receiver because he's beat, then I'm fine with a long penalty.
It's the ticky tack pushing and shoving calls, or being slightly to early, that should be limited to 15 yards.
Right . It hasn’t ruined the college game .They bring that up but say it doesnt really happen in college.

in college? I dont watch much college footballDB can be straight ejected for a flagrant foul if it e.g. prevents a score.
15 yard limit on PI, if were a CB I'd just mug a WR that beats me past 15 yards
The comment that they do not do that in college now is incorrect, I see that all the time. I think that would really be exploited in the NFL and have even more PI calls.15 yard limit on PI, if were a CB I'd just mug a WR that beats me past 15 yards
its the smart play if you're beat and out of position, I think the NFL defensive coordinators would be all over exploiting this ruleThe comment that they do not do that in college now is incorrect, I see that all the time. What is considered flagrant? Something being "malicious" or "intentional" is a judgement would like the refs really to make that judgement.Maybe they say the first time it's flagrant by a player, just 15 yards. Second time, spot foul?
Exactly! I hate this penalty. No one tackles guys on purpose in college, high school, or middle school football for that matter. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen teams use this penalty to their advantage. Especially teams that throw it deep on a regular basis. It’s a game changer and it needs to be fixed.
The other rule should be illegal contact. Give them 5 yard but not an automatic first down. Just a dumb rule. That is another one that changes the game. How many times is that stupid penalty called on 3 and 15??
They're coached to push the envelope now with the rule and the risk of a lot of yards beats a TD. Change that to just 15 and we will see an increase in PI's and more stops within the game.its the smart play if you're beat and out of position, I think the NFL defensive coordinators would be all over exploiting this rule
Yeah, it would have to be a judgment call. Just a like a flagrant hit. Or hitting a defenseless player. Holding for that matter. They are all judgment calls. What is considered flagrant? Something being "malicious" or "intentional" is a judgement would like the refs really to make that judgement.
I also believe penalties should be assessed IN FULL. If you're on you're 12 yard line and commit a holding penalty, then back them up to the 2.
