You see garbage because he is above it in your opinion. You can't face the facts he is on decline, lost a step, and his 3 yard out routes on third downs kill us.

There are obviously a few people who agree with my original post, guess they have a garbage mindset on Witten as well? You just love Witten and will defend him and anything this team does.

He's not the same, get over it

he is so much a better player(on the worst day he ever had) then you will ever be as a poster. Get over it.

Lol your hurt.

That's the best you got? Attack my posting like I get paid for this.

You are just a homer and you are upset somebody said something negative about your God...get over it.

Witten has fallen off. Grab some tissues and go to the bathroom.

Haven't really seen the Wit-hurt surface since the lead up to the season before last when he played with a lacerated spleen and everybody and his brother rushed out to say his blocking had slipped and that he'd lost a step. Right before he set the single season record for receptions for a TE, was sent to his 8th probowl, and won the Walter Payton Man of the Year award. Then they quieted down a bit for whatever reason.

But they're still out there. He's older, and his play is declining. Eventualy, the fans who want to be first to jump the gun and get a head start on tearing down a great player will have enough ammo and their case won't look so silly. It hasn't happened yet, but it will.

In a way, Ware was lucky to get released when he did.

I love it... People overrate Witten's overall ability around these parts. Costly penalties and average blocking.

Dallas was 5th in scoring this year, so Witten wasn't killing them at all. The defense was the obvious problem. Repeating the words sloppy routes and 3 yard routes over and over is pretty meaningless and aren't anything you can actually back up with any facts.

Don't talk about him that way. The homers get offended. If you are a cowboy, and a HOF player, you can do no wrong.

It is when you, you are released or on a rival team, that people begin to notice that you were not all that.

Who Witten? Of course not, I mean where would we be without him and his great play lately? I mean so many Wins, and Playoff success . All thanks to Witten.

Everybody knows about his 3 yard out routes, like a poster said earlier, it's the staple of our offense. We need it. More short routes to witten on 3rd and long.

Exactly.

..because if i had to pick one player on our offense to start a thread and ***** about.. it'd be Jason Witten.

Great job, everyone.

This coming from a guy who stood up for Danny McCray. Please stop it, you love anyone who is a Cowboy.

You know what, you are right. Witten is still the greatest TE playing today. Gronk who? Jimmy Graham? Please

Romo is also heads and shoulders above Tom Brady. Yay!!, anybody who plays for the Cowboys!

Just my opinion, but when you have to resort to gross exaggerations to make a point, it's not much of a point.

Jason Witten is and has been a very good player at his position, it's just a fact. You might not agree, but it doesn't make it any less of a fact.

Show me where I said Witten is not a good player. If so, I'll accept this as an L.

The problem is, I criticized him, and his play as of recent, and said he is not the same guy and has fallen off a bit. That does not mean he isn't good at his position anymore. The homers and Witten fans got offended. Like he is above criticism.

Witten will still get his catches, he will still have a game or a few games, where he does a real good Job, and people will jump up and down and throw threads like this back in peoples face. He is not a horrible player at all, but he is not the same guy. A ton of his success that will come in the future has to be credited to Dez

It was an inference on my part, based on posts like these:

He needs it, those 3 yard out routes on 3rd and 8 have to stop, and he needs to run his routes when doing those more precise. Yeah Romo shouldn't even be throwing to that dumb *** route, but with him running it so sloppy it always almost get's picked off or gets him clocked

Yeah, that as well. He runs it sloppy in terms he does not cut that great when running it. Not his fault, time caught up with him, and he does not have WR feet. Middle of the field is his cash Money

Ah yes, I forgot, Lord Witten can do no wrong.

I did not say he runs sloppy routes. You all are just so quick to Defend the Witten, your Lord. I said he runs the out Route real sloppy, just runs up and turns real quick, yeah, he's really fooling the defense. Tell me, how many first downs, while doing that route for 3 yards, on 3rd and long has he picked up for us.

I might be blind, but on 3rd and long, when he does this, he is either hit immediately and rode out of bounds, the ball is thrown at his feet because there is a defender right there, or a guy flashes right in front for the near int.

Witten has lost a step, lets not pretend he is still this great TE that no one can guard. He's a cowboy, cool, but lets not act blind.

But if you both believe what you've posted and still don't disagree with me that Jason Witten is still a very good player, then it sounds like we're in agreement. I just have a hard time reconciling 'very good' and phrases like 'so sloppy it almost always gets picked,' 'time has caught up with him,' and 'let's not pretend he is still this great TE.'

I'm still confused, frankly, but it sounds like you'd agree that he's very good, but not great, despite the sloppiness and lost steps. If that's the case, there's not enough there to argue about, really.

That is why I love Witten. He's a Pro in every sense of the word and that's really all you can ask for in this day and age of Football.

I can see why you would feel that way.

I don't hate the guy,or think he sucks, or i'd be calling for him to get released. He is still good, and he does certain things good.(Notice I said middle of field is his cash money), but I feel he does a few things not that good. Yes time has caught up with him, which is why he not the same Witten, but he can still get the Job done, and is not above criticism.

So basically, you posted in a thread, post was stupid.. so now you have to overexaggerate everything that everyone else says to try and make your "argument" look halfway intelligent.

Got it.

You are a Danny McCray supporter, says enough about you. You love anything Cowboys, there is no wrong, as long as you wear the star.
