I say go for it Jerry Jones there is nothing wrong with getting another veteran reciever. Joe Horn would be a good fit. That is not saying Jerry doesn't have confidence in Austin, Hurd, and Stanback but the more veteran experience the better. We need insurance if Glenn can't cut the mustard. And yea he is a year older than T.O., yea we don't know how much he has left in the tank, but come on let's see how it works out if it was to happen. You so called Dallas fans need to stop being so negative when you here about something that you don't agree with. Let it ride and let's see what happens...

I trust the facts.

The fact that the guy couln't play practically all of last season.

The fact that when he did return, he contributed nothing.

The fact that he couldn't pass a physical and refuses to take another one.

And the fact that he won't sign a waiver against further injuring his knee.

That's what I trust.

find my other post about his contract, thats a fact as you define it.
(its a couple pages back if you really care)

Who told you he couldn't pass a physical?

The NFL is in the business of letting players who can't pass physicals on the field? Yet we offered a contract anyways?

Not gonna keep on with this though, you made up your mind, who am I to change it.

What have you read not from the mouth of jerry?

I read a ton a day, listen to sports radio in dallas most of the day, I don't take notes.

Jerry has put out there that Terry is more hurt than he is so another team won't touch him and it gives him leverage in the whole thing.

Is Glenn's knee an issue and a worry, sure, but my gut says Terry is ready to play and egos are involved now.

I'm with you Stealth. Jerry is playing the PR game, talking Glenn's value down and trying to back Glenn into a corner to force concessions on him.

I understand why he does it, because he's a business man...

The other teammates swear that Glenn is ready to do... no business fog in front of their face to skew their judgment. Their job is to win, and they want Glenn out there with them because he will help them do that.

The team said it.

Look it up.

Horn has also played in just 22 games to Crayton's 31 in that stretch, might want to throw that in there.

Not that I want Horn here, but quoting figures will never tell the whole story, just the story you want to tell in most situations.

If I wanted to prop up Joe, I'd bring up that fact that the last time he had a competent QB throwing to him (2006), he averaged 18.4 yards per catch to Crayton's 13.9 last year. Not bad for an old man.

He's certainly over the hill and past his prime, but you are making it seem like he's the worst option there is when that's not the case.
I brought up that he has been injured and missed games already in this thread.

(had to edit, ran my two posts together as one)

I say we solve this debate with the medieval method...

Let's have Ware go out there and kick him in his bad knee... if the knee heals and he shows up to training camp ready... give him the whole contract without the clause....

If Ware's kick to his knee destroys Glenn's knee for good, then, there ain't nothing left to fight about because he can't play anyway.

Problem solved ;-)

It's funny that the only thing we've read about this in the papers or the internet comes from NFN, not from our own media. So frankly I'm not giving this much credence at all.

I do know one thing. There's no way Jerry makes this trade unless Stephen, Wade & Garrett are fully on board. If we do add another WR, would think we'd wait til closer to TC just to see who fallls out of the tree.

Of course no one is going to come in who is at Owens level. So what then, waive the white flag and play for draft picks?

Jerry Rice is more experienced than Joe Horn and can probably outplay him even now. Should we go after him?

Horn had 27 catches for 243 yards and 1 score.

Forgive me, I have more faith in Crayton, Hurd, Miles, and Stanback than I do Joe Horn. I have a whole lot more faith in Glenn, even in his tenuous condition. A few years ago, no problem. Not enough Geritol in the metroplex for that dinosaur.

Jerry Rice a Cowboy? NEVERRRRRRRRR!

Alright, couldn't read every word on a 14 page thread but it was definitely worth nothing, and could also be likewise taken as a knock against his durability.

The only way I'd want Horn is for a vet min contract with no bonus.

Yep, he is not worth trading a pick to obtain at this point in his career. If he gets released, then maybe can take a flier on him.

Bingo. He has had a history of recent nagging injuries as well. Might as well go with Glenn because even Horn might not finish the season.

Not sure how this got turned into a Horn vs Glenn argument, but was there something in the reports that said it had to be one or the other?

I think Glenns' dog ate Stash's rosebush.

There 'ya go.. that's all I'm saying. Maybe Glenn ain't healthy, but we don't know that Horn is either really. Let's go with what we know. We know more about Glenn's health than Horn's.

come on dude, who is the team?
Look that up.

have a nice day

The knee kept Glenn out of 15 games last season. Because of it, Glenn did not pass a physical at the end of last season. He did not take a physical with his teammates Monday.

This is good enough for me.

I say bring him in under a one - year deal because the guy still can play but you have to look at it from his point of view. Before coming to Atlanta he was a number 1 wide receiver in New Orleans and he had a above average Quarterback in Aaron Brooks who played with the Saints.

Joe Horn soon came to a Quarterback called "Joey Harrington and Bryon Leftwich" who I might add didn't have Joe Horn in mind as the wide receiver to go to. The two main wide receivers on the team is Michael Jenkins and Roddy White, a former first round draft choice and I also might add Alge Crumpler the Tight End who didn't play a big factor in last season with the Falcons.

So, basically he has a great and accurate Quarterback in Romo, but to be honest with everybody, I wouldn't be mad if the Cowboys sign Joe Horn or Matt Jones because I know it would be good talent added but, I do believe that Cowboys have alot of talent at wide receiver that can come in and get the job done.

I also believe in the logic that Joe Horn is really hungry for a superbowl ring. History in sports motto always has been:: "WHO WANTS IT MORE?"

That's the question everybody anticipates on seeing the answer to. There has been many teams that had impact players that really had the desire to win it all. For example, Boston Celtics Kevin Garnett, who played with the Timberwolves and never reach that point ever in his career, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen are examples of players who had that fire inside of them to win it all.

New York Giants believe it or not was the answer to that motto last year.

So, I believe the more players the Cowboys get with that desire and passion to want to win that much it's a big plus. These type of players also keep the motivation up on the side lines and the locker room.

And for the record, im talking about Joe Horn on this part, not Matt Jones because he isn't proven yet.

It still seems to come down to: Glenn had no problems taking around 5 mil for a handful of plays last season, and now he sees no reason to even things out. Yes these guys sacrifice their health in the long run to be paid far more than most of us will ever see in our lifetimes, but if they don't know what the options are by now, when their bodies are telling them that father time is banging on the door, perhaps they never will.

It does not necessarily mean that Jones has to continue to pay for theoretical production. Let the team authorize Glenn to entertain offers, then perhaps we'll see what the real league-wide interest is. And if it's little to none, that in itself is an answer. Maybe not the one the Glenn supporters would like to hear, but an answer from people more in the know than we are.

Let Glenn get an independent physical, and see what the answer is.

These last two scenarios I've not heard much talk about. Maybe they aren't realistic either.
