eegh, I can take it or leave it. Wouldn't hurt having another vet but I'm not sure how much he can really help at this point of his career.

Hopefully the development of the younger recievers will make him a non factor.

If we sign him, whatever. But I'm hoping that one of the youngin will push him aside.

Hold up folks.

This was just Shefter not having 'any' news because it's dead right now.

So he says to himself, 'well it's always a good move to speculate on the Cowboys and one of their needs along with a guy who is unhappy somewhere else. And prefferably a name not everyone has already talked about for the last three months (Roy, Anquan, Chad).'

This is just about Horn wanting a trade out of Atlanta. Which the Falcons would gladly do because they don't want to pay him.

But why would the Cowboys want a washed up player when they have Crayton and T.O. as the #1 and #2 WR's?

got this off a falcons board

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the Cowboys are keeping close tabs on Joe Horn's situation in Atlanta.
Schefter says Horn has become "plan 1A" for Dallas if Terry Glenn doesn't sign his injury waiver and the Cowboys could send Atlanta a late-round pick.

so who would be plan 1b? stasheroo's guy?

I really doubt that Jerry would make Horn 1A with Matt Jones' name being floated.

:lmao2: I hope your joking.

Nope, not joking at all. I think Horn would be very productive along side of TO and Witten. With that being said, I rather us go with one of our young cats. I do believe Horn can still play tho, especially with the offensive team we have...

Would've been great a few years ago, but he's finished now.

Atlanta has needed WRs forever, but they didn't care about keeping him -- with good reason.

this move would be straight out of left field.

He isnt half the player Terry Glenn is and if you give up a pick for him you are putting him on the roster.

That means bye bye to Terry and bye bye to one of the young wr.

Me personally I would stay with what we have. If we cut hurd or austin for Joe Horn I am going to really start to question the talent evaluation.

Joe Horn is a bum now. This would be a laughable move. I'd rather take my chances on a 28 year old free agent.

True that. I would rather have drunkard Koren Robinson than Joe Horn. The only way this makes any sense whatsoever is for veteran leadership just in case Owens was to get hurt. I just hope he doesn't hamper the development of the youngin's.

Geez..I, hope he isn't that 'wow player' JJ been talking about...:(

I believe he is the WOW guy. He's the WOW I can't believe he's still playing guy!:laugh2:

Seriously, although I'm not crazy about this move, is it really all that different than bringing back Terry Glenn?

I mean lets be real here. He cant pass our physical and we want him to sign an injury waver. That's bad!
What kind of odds would Vegas offer on a proposition bet that Glenn plays even 12 games this year?

Are we that desperate???? That would be absolutely absurd for the Cowboys to cut Hurd, Stanback, or Austin for old man Horn. Personally, I don't think Horn will beat out any of the youngin's even if we get him.

I agree. It would make next to no sense.

Either the commentary we are hearing about Hurd and Austin is false and they are really bad and we are very worried about the position or it is just a passing interest. I refuse to believe that our decision makers are truly convinced Horn would be a valuable addition that could make a difference.

I think Schefter is running out of things to report. This seems like a major reach. There is no possible way our scouts could possibly think he could even manage to unseat Crayton, never mind replace Glenn and in the process hinder the development of our promising young wideouts. It would be a monumentally dumb move IMO.

Not going to happen.

Tidbits from www.rototimes.com
http://www.rototimes.com/nfl/player/673
June 26, 2008
The Dallas Cowboys are interested in acquiring Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Joe Horn, according to Adam Schefter of the NFL.com.

Our View:With Terry Glenn still a question mark, Horn could come in and be a quality third wide receiver, backing up Terrell Owens and Patrick Crayton.
May 22, 2008
Joe Horn will not attend any team functions that are voluntary as he continues to try and push the team into moving him to another club, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. "When we open up [training] camp we anticipate Joe will be here," HC Mike Smith said.

Our View:Horn realizes that he will be nothing more than a spare part in Atlanta, but honestly, what did he expect after such limited success last season? At this point, he may not even be the team's WR3 with Roddy White, Laurent Robinson, Michael Jenkins and rookie Harry Douglas also in the fold.
May 12, 2008
Joe Horn stated on Monday that he would like to be traded rather than serve as a "just in case guy" with the Falcons this season, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Horn said, "I want to win a Super Bowl and I want to win a Super Bowl here in Atlanta, but I don't think I can help this team win a Super Bowl sitting on the bench, waiting for third down."

Our View:Roddy White is coming off a breakout season and Laurent Robinson is already projected to start opposite White. Michael Jenkins and promising rookie Harry Douglas are also going to be in the mix, and the 36-year old Horn knows he won't hold a significant role in Atlanta this season. He won't be satisfied by just mentoring the young receivers in 2008.
March 6, 2008
Joe Horn will be evaluated at the mini-camp three weeks prior to the 2008 NFL draft to see if he is a good fit as the No. 4 receiver in Atlanta, according to Pro Football Weekly. The report states that Roddy White, Michael Jenkins and Laurent Robinson are entrenched in the top three spots. The organization will likely burn a second-day draft selection on a wide receiver if they decide to part ways with Horn, who is well past his prime.
November 17, 2007
Joe Horn hasn't practiced all week and is not expected to play on Sunday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Horn's still dealing with the hamstring injury that sidelined him in Week 10.

Why in the world would we want a player that can't even crack the WR3 spot on a woeful Atlanta Falcons team? This is beyond idiocy.

You obviously have not watched him play much recently.
with tony romo an average wide out can be very productive.
not with joey harrington
