I do not think the kick should either ..... when the ball hits the ref is it replayed?

No. The ref is considered part of the field of play.

Joe Bucks Cowboy hatred was in full display during that game.

You're right. Joe Buck hates the Cowboys so much he would flat out lie while doing his play-by-play on national television.

I understand what you are getting at but your analogy is lacking in a few spots relating to the board.

The whole point of having a minimum height is to prevent any interference. As a result, you build the board at a height that is high enough to avoid interfering with the play of the game.

Just because you are given bad information on what height is acceptable doesn't mean you are free from checking for yourself. And to Jerry's credit, he did check for himself. He had McBriar kick to determine the height.

However, he was wrong and the league was wrong. To say Jerry isn't responsible at all is to say he didn't put forth the effort and take on the responsibility to verify for himself. We know that isn't the case.

Well all is good now. It stays!

Now we can talk about what is really important, and that is football. Now only the idiots can whine about the video board. End of Story.

If only there were some type of moving picture machine which followed the 2nd punt. Something that would substantiate Joe Bucks claims.

Yeah...my four comments on the subject clearly show how passionate I am about this travesty.

I regress...you guys have at it.
You've made over a dozen post in the threads on the subject. Yeah, some were about shrimp and others about abs, but you still showed interest. Just caught my attention since your avatar sticks out more than most.

Thank you!!! A voice of reason among "homers". I love this team like no other. Have for over 44 yrs. I don't like a lot of what Jerry Jones does. Just the fact that he spent $40M+ on this video board, and didn't make sure that the greatest punter of all time, (Ray Guy) wouldn't even be able to hit it was just plain dumb. If the rules, which are obviously inadequate, say 85 feet, hang it 120 feet. It not only would keep out of the field of play, but from what I saw, would give more fans a better view of the field.

This is going to be an issue until Jerry raises the thing. Young punters trying to make a name for themselves all over the league will be aiming for it every chance they get...and if a backup who, as a poster put it, "probably has no future in the NFL", can hit it with regularity, what about even stronger ones? This is an issue that should never have been one.
My opinion of the height of this video board would be the same regardless of the team who had it. It has nothing to do with the Cowboys.

I know his second punt had some good distance on it and if the broadcaster watching the game in person says it had the height, why shouldn't anyone believe it?

Because the hangtime wasn't long enough.

<edit> I take that back. Just went back and timed the punt. It had about 5.1 second hang time (which is very good), so it was certainly high enough to hit the video board.</edit>

I'm glad the board is staying where it is.

Only one punt hit the videoboard. Why do people conveniently ignore that 12 other punts did not hit the videoboard?

So only one punt had to be done. Whoop Dee Doo.

Its ONLY obvious that it SHOULD be raised if its hit numerous times during REAL games. Anyone saying otherwise NOW is a total joke.

I can agree with this because I don't think it will be. I don't think NFL Punters are as stupid as some people think. I hate the fools, but they aren't going to sabotage themselves.

I could definitely see one of our division rivals hitting it intentionally late in a game if they are getting blown out in Cowboys Stadium just to cause a PR problem for the Cowboys.

They haven't stopped cussing Jerry and they never will. So it's a moot point.
On this point, I get so tired of defending Jerry to ppl. Everyone is so predjudice against him, either because of what the media says or because the cowboys have romped on their teams for years. When will ppl. ever learn to blame Jerry for what he's guilty of and not for everything he does. As much as some things he's done that's made me mad, the fact is we have 3 superbowls with him, a new stadium, a good personnel and support staff in place, and the league has a level playing field for competition that's unrivaled in other sports. Plus, every team makes more money than they could have ever dreamed of before. All thanks to Jerry.

The math wasn't very hard. If the league mandated 85 feet, then 90 feet is not our problem. Case closed.

That's 16 or more games multiplied by several punts per game.

Unfortunately, we get only eight home games per regular season.

Gosselin is on GAC bashing the decision. Saying 2 million is worth more than the integrity of the game.

Was asked if this was a "pimp slap" to Fisher, Polian and the comp. committee and Gosselin said yes, it was a 2 million dollar pimp slap:lmao:

Said the Titans didn't like walking through the fans and he thinks the NFL will change that for the visiting team. If Jerry wants his team walking through a club he can but the other team shouldn't have to.

So now this is gonna be an issue? Bet your last dollar this will be a Goose article very soon.

What integrity of the game? So they had to replay one down. That affects the integrity of the game? I've enjoyed the debate, but let's keep it real. In the grand scheme of the game this issue is totally insignificant. How many downs have to be replayed in a game because of totally avoidable actions like dumb penalties?
