Whats up with the titans being big babies? First they complain about videoboard being too low now about the walk of shame? This is ridiculous.

All this crying makes me want every opposing punter to hit the screen and every player walking onto the field to question their manhood.

What's next? Are the Titans going to ask that half the stadium be filled with visiting team fans so that they won't get their feelings hurt? Bleh.

Gosselin is on GAC bashing the decision. Saying 2 million is worth more than the integrity of the game.

Was asked if this was a "pimp slap" to Fisher, Polian and the comp. committee and Gosselin said yes, it was a 2 million dollar pimp slap:lmao:

Said the Titans didn't like walking through the fans and he thinks the NFL will change that for the visiting team. If Jerry wants his team walking through a club he can but the other team shouldn't have to.

So now this is gonna be an issue? Bet your last dollar this will be a Goose article very soon.
The league signed off on every minute detail so Jerry can tell them if they don't want their team coming through the fans then they don't have to come period.

That might be the sorriest thing I've ever heard. It sounds like something Joe Gibbs would cry about.

So much for people who said the stadium wouldn't give us a home-field advantage.

Hmm. Are we close enough to piss on them as they walk by? :laugh2:

I hope Jerry sticks to his guns and sues them if they try to screw with anything else.

Thank you!!! A voice of reason among "homers". I love this team like no other. Have for over 44 yrs. I don't like a lot of what Jerry Jones does. Just the fact that he spent $40M+ on this video board, and didn't make sure that the greatest punter of all time, (Ray Guy) wouldn't even be able to hit it was just plain dumb. If the rules, which are obviously inadequate, say 85 feet, hang it 120 feet. It not only would keep out of the field of play, but from what I saw, would give more fans a better view of the field.

This is going to be an issue until Jerry raises the thing. Young punters trying to make a name for themselves all over the league will be aiming for it every chance they get...and if a backup who, as a poster put it, "probably has no future in the NFL", can hit it with regularity, what about even stronger ones? This is an issue that should never have been one.

I have to agree with this. As a Cowboy fan, I certainly don't feel as though I have "won". This is just silly. That board should be near impossible to hit, but clearly, that is not the case. Now, it's just another distraction when it didn't have to be.

With that being said, I guess we'll have a much clearer picture at the end of the season.

I do not have DallasEast's graphics abilities so I am going to use Danny White's sig pic and Matt McBriar's commentary to make a point.

Look at the size of the cheerleaders on the field and the height of the video board. Bottom line the BACKUP Punter for the Titans knew he was not likely to make the team. He has a dubious future in the NFL, but he could at least put his name to a controversy. Maybe he becomes a trivia answer. That was his motivation.

In other words, he hit the video board on purpose. No one will ever tell me differently and convince me.

I want you to think about this. What kind of moron punts down the middle of the field? According to Matt McBriar a good Punter always tries to pin the ball inside the 20 yard line. The sidelines are a Punter's friends.

It is extremely rare and questionable to punt to the middle of the field where an elusive return man has a wide open field to either side to try and elude tacklers. It is also rare to try and punt the ball straight up in the air. So straight up in the air and down the middle of the field?

That equals either stupidity or intent to hit the board.

I was discussing this with Star-Fan yesterday. How many of us used to try and punt the football over the power lines when we were kids? When you did it you felt like you had made the NFL yourself. Folks those lines are about 30 feet above the ground. Multiply that accomplishment from your childhood by 3. That is how high up the video board is.

I openly expressed doubts it could be hit. I was wrong. I still maintain the only way that this causes an issue is if the Punter tries to hit it on purpose and if he does then he's just a really stupid football player.

Let the mouth breathers whine. They were going to anyway.

:hammer:
Couldnt have sait it better myself. Well, could have, but, you know.......;)

I don't want this to sound angry or anything so please don't take it that way. But my answer is because it shouldn't be an issue in the 1st place. A punt hit the video board. So what? Yeah, it could have been placed higher to begin with, but so what? Is that really a big deal?

When the Cowboys go to play a team that share a field with a baseball team like Oakland, etc. and someone slips on the dirt, where is the outrage? It could have been avoided if the home team had some foresight and bought an artificial turf playing field to roll out before the football game.

When the Squealers allow a college team to play on Saturday before they play on Sunday in bad weather, do the pundits give a crap? The sloppy field where punts have been known to stick in the mud and get no roll at all impact the game to a much larger degree than an occasional do over. That situation is totally avoidable.

That's why I consider it a "win". It's a little deal that was blown entirely out of proportion to it's real consequence and impact on the game just because Fisher takes this opportunity to turn into a cry baby.

Waaa the nasty Cowboys game planned against us.

Waaa our punt hit the scoreboard and I had to throw a challenge flag even though it wasn't charged as a challenge

Waaa our players had to walk close by their fans when entering the field.

Tough ****.

I know right? This was a better idea than the video board and should be considered home-field advantage. Unless someone is in danger (there has got to be some security), then other teams need to get the **** over it.

I wouldn't expect any security problems. From what I've see during the half-dozen times I've been to Texas Stadium, the opposing teams and their fans are treaded pretty well. I wouldn't expect that to change at the new stadium, unless one of the party-passers throws a Philthy fan over the railing.

But that wouldn't really count anyway.

That's strange all I've heard on different sports shows since this happened is how punters don't go for the corners anymore.

That doesn't mean they don't angle kick because they all do almost every time.

A lot of punters don't do coffin corner kicks because its more likely to be shanked. But angling like McBriar is talking about is just between the hash and the sideline or where the numbers are. And although the video screen may look wide it really is not and is pretty easily missed if the punter wants to miss it.
