I sure hope that ware doen

I sure hope that those are not the numbers that ware signs for. that would be insane money to sign a soon to be mid thirties defensive end. the days of ware of getting 15 sacks again are over in my opinion. the most that ware will get in a season is 12 the rest of the way. I hope the guarantee money is only in the 10-15 million range. 26 million would be a huge cap hit to a absorb in the future when ware is done in three years.

he was joking.

Yeah, people like to say the Jones' dont know what theyre doing. But they basically took any leverage Ware's agent had away. Getting under the cap basically flipped his agent the bird. Basically we do this deal or we guarantee you Ware wont be getting a bigger deal elsewhere.

The Jones' don't know what they're doing.

8 million a year! wow lol and a big fat guarantee in case he goes downhill again...to a player who has done nothing. Sorry but Ware plain sucks at stopping the run and he cant rush either now with all his injuries. Lets get some new younger players in the draft and another 1 or 2 during free agency. On the defensive front.

Ware was the 3rd ranked DE against the run last year. I'm back and forth on the Ware issue but misinformation like this makes your argument moot either way because you lose all credibility when you make **** up to fit your agenda.

he had 28 tackles all season!

wow 1.5 per game

he absolutely sucks against run stopping. Teams went right at him.

Agenda? look in the mirror.

Yeah..

This is where we find out about Ware.

Ray Lewis had a similar career to Ware's.

Only in the last few years..they were able to put a team around him before he retired with 2 rings.

Ware needs to see the overall situation.

The team can't afford his deal at this point and has to afford new players to get him to a chance at rings.

So Ware needs to sit down and think.

If he thinks the team is not going to win..then go.

If it will..then he needs to stay and lend a hand.

Yeah, Ware ain't Lewis in personality wise/leadership (what can he teach a new DL that the coaches can't?). My man helps QBs up after sacks...(sorry can't let that go unless you know you might get a roughing call...says a lot about this team actually 'soft' to a tissue paper T? No wonder teams punk us @ home on a regular basis...)

My point had nothing to do with Ware. It's about you making **** up. Case in point: your math is a little fuzzy there, genius. Start with the games Ware played and THEN come up with your tackles per game average. You're a classic 101 case of how to ignore reality to fit an agenda.

As for MY agenda? I don't have one. I'll end up disappointed one way or the other. I'll be disappointed if he stays because I'm certain I'll hate the contract parameters. I'll be disappointed if he goes because he's a class act and solid player when healthy. We are a weaker team without him (he still needs to be replaced and FA isn't going to present many viable options).

Back to your regularly scheduled bull ****.

Jerry is making noise like he's determined to overcome his fanguy mentality in favor of being businesslike. I'm hoping it's more than simply posturing noise coming from his vocal cords. He's long been known to let emotional ties interfere with sound money management when it comes to contract time. If the organization and Ware can't arrive at a point of mutual betterment, hopefully we'll act objectively and tend to the decisions that good business demands. Teams like the Pats, Packers and Seahawks know when to part ways and when not to. We should make it a point to do likewise. Bad decisions are often made in an emotional state. No more of that, please.

I'm not sure it's emotional ties, but there are two times involving "temperamental" players where I think he just wanted to keep them happy and it backfired both those times. (TO, RAT)

I like Ware and appreciate all he has done. However, I'm tired of seeing him run past the QB with his only remaining move every play. He appears to have lost all/most of his flexibility you need to fight and wiggle by OL. IMO he's impeding progress of younger players, even if they aren't on the team yet.

In the 3rd worst D in history? Why cling to that; does he assist in a SB run next year; 15 Million free off the cap in 2015/7 this year if the team likes FA's, Tyron/Dez, etc?

As the calendar creeps towards June 2nd, Dallas will gain additional leverage because by that point teams will have filled many of their holes through FA and the draft (not too mention spending a lot of their available cap space) so by the beginning of June the availability of jobs that pay $6 mil per season (or more) will be much fewer than they are presently.

Yes, the increase in the NFL cap for 2014 made things much easier for the Cowboys. Before the increase, they would have to either restructure or cut Ware before June 1st if they wanted to sign any free agents; however, now they could carry his non restructured cap hit to June 1st AND sign free agents with enough restructures of other players.
