everyone did fine, but to be honest, and im probably wrong here, i dont know if our guy has the high ceiling everyone wnats to believe he has. I think out of potential , (even tho teh team can screw it up) I think the skins got a real good player with a high ceiling. But all 4 teams did well with us shooting for "meh"

I like Agholor a lot buy I think he's more of a complementary WR and great returner. That is probably fine with Chip. I get the sense he wants a lot of replaceable parts that he can just plug in.

I like Flowers but I think it's only 40/60 that he can play as a LT. Taking a RT at 9 is a big reach imo.

I'm not clear on where they're playing him but Scherff is hard to argue with. I think Iowa offensive linemen always look a bit better than they actually are due to the HC, Kirk Ferentz - a former NFL OL coach. But he's going to start day 1 and have a long, very good career. Also could help salvage RGIII and boost Alfred Morris' productivity.

I'm undecided on Byron Jones. Has enticing physical attributes and versatility, as well as high character, work ethic and intelligence from what I've read and heard. I can completely see what the coaches see in him. However, the level of competition makes him the easiest for people to see what they want to see. I did not see a great natural CB on video but he could be someone who puts in so much time with film work that he can compensate. I think he has the biggest potential to disappoint but he's the one with the highest ceiling as well. As far as a FS, who knows.

Scherff is a beast. And I don't like that they got him one bit. The others -- meh.

I guess the question is in regards to the CB/S positions, are these positions where hard workers and gym rats can excel or is it mostly about natural talent? Because Jones has a reputation as a very hard worker.

Combine that with athleticism and experience and how far can he go?

I'm glad the Commanders passed on Leonard Williams. Scherff is solid but shouldn't scare anyone. People will want to compare him to Zach but I don't see Zach's killer mentality in him.

Flowers never wowed me but he's a big man with really good feet. The Giants are sneaky good evaluators so they get the benefit of the doubt.

I still can't believe Agholar was drafted higher than Robert Woods and Marqise Lee were the last 2 years, but he's a good fit for the Ducks..I mean Eagles offense.

Jones has been growing on me the last few weeks. I haven't watched enough UConn games to give him a fair evaluation but I have to hope McClay and his crew nailed it. I have to believe it was more than just being wowed by his athleticism and taking the word of Paul Pasqualoni from two years ago.

Front offices make their money in rounds 2 through 5 to me, so a lot left to sort out.

We got what Garrett calls a RKG in a position of need. He should raise the bar on our secondary. I love the pick. Can't believe he just fell to us. The others NFC East teams I don't care about. We are still going to sweep the division this year.

I'm so glad we didn't draft a RB.

Yeah, I think that's exactly why the team puts so much weight on RKGs. They're the people who are most likely to put in the work towards maximizing what they have. It's undeniable that Byron Jones has a lot.

I don't know what kind of player he'll be, but I know we're not going to look back three years from now and say Byron Jones failed because he didn't work hard.

Agholor is going to be running past the Cowboys secondary for years to come in that offense.

So someone is going to outrun Scandrick? That's probably news to Scandrick, you know, the guy that ran a 4.32 at the combine.

You mean like when Jordan Matthews ran right through your defense for a 30 yard TD in the Thanksgiving game?

It shouldn't be news to Scandrick either way. Jackson and Maclin have been running past that guy for years.

What happened in that December game?

1) Agholor looks like Maclin Jr from what I've seen. Expect him to be very productive.
2) The Commanders picked a guy who won't play left tackle with a top 5 pick. Think that is pretty ridiculous. Dude is gonna have to be an All-Pro RT (All-Pro RT, lol?) to justify that choice. Pretty obvious they're trying to duplicate Zack Martin there.
3) Flowers looks very unrefined to me. Good looking athlete, but he looks far away technique wise. Would be shocked if he's not kicked in to guard to keep from being isolated against pass rushers.

Don't really want to rate the Cowboys pick with the others because the bias is going to shade it to much. I hate it position wise. No problem with the player himself, just not what I was hoping for.

With Mariota throwing it to him, it should be fun for you to watch.

Oh, wait. I meant Sam Bradford. For however many games he suits up. It ought to be fun seeing if you guys managed to close the two game gap this offseason after cleverly getting rid of your QB, RB, and best WR while we've just sat here upgrading our pass rush and our coverage.

Both the Skins and Gmen drafted RT a little earlier that we usually see a RT taken. The Gmen reached about 7-10 picks up to get him. The Skins reached a few picks.

I do not know the Eagles WR pick. I would guess he is a bigger reach than the Skins and Gmen picks.
I think we took Jones about where he should have gone.

Dallas -no reach and we can deal with Carr and Scandrick from a point of leverage.
Skins- small reach
Gmen-bigger reach
Eagles- dislocated their shoulder reaching.

Agholor was projected to be a late first round/early first round. They picked at 20, so they reached slightly, but it was a good pick.

Commanders passing on Williams is incredibly dumb, Giants did ok but Flowers will never be a LT in the league. Philly got a decent player in the wrong round.

I honestly believe the Cowboys got the best player with position flex to boot.
