I disagree about the giants. I think they have absolutely nailed this offseason. People are overstating their Offensive line issues.

They signed Rhett Ellison, DJ Fluker and Brandon Marshall. They drafted Engram.

The giants have to me an incredible offense. Ellison and Adams are tight ends that can block and play H back roles while engram is essentially a wr. They are going to be near impossible to defend. Paul Perkins looked good at running back.

That group if healthy is capable of being off the charts good. I think their pass protection is going to be just fine. I guess we have to just hope that manning shows up looking old and not willing to get hit.

The Giants offense could be lethal, if they had a QB. Eli is well past his prime, and getting worse every year.

Back to the original topic; The other teams in our division all had higher picks, so should have gotten (at least what we think are) better players. I have faith that the right selection was made, because we've drafted quite well the last few years.
Also, Marinelli really likes Taco, so that can't hurt.

again, they had an injury with pugh and issues at tight end and running back.

This year they brought in Ellison a very good blocking H back or tight end. They have a blocker in adams and now a pass catcher in engram. They have 335 pound fluker to help in the running game. Not sure if he is going to right guard or what but they have dedicated their offseason to improving their weaknesses and to me they have. I think giving perkins the bulk of the carries is going to be big also.

I just hope manning looks old and sluggish. If he has time this is a tough offense.

Are you on the wrong team site?

The problem is not Marshall. It's Marshall coupled with Odell Beckham and the fact that we just let nearly our whole starting secondary go. I'm fine with our pick, but I wasn't fine with letting all the secondary go. Unless Marinelli does something amazing, we better hope we can outscore teams.
We will draft a couple of corners. Will they pan out? No one knows that about any pick. We let average players in the secondary go because we didn't want to overpay for them. I would have rather kept Claiborne, but obviously they front office didn't think he was worth the $.

well yea I like taco. I was all in on a front 7 player and hopefully not one with issues. So to me this is great. We have a very good defensive line rotation. They like to dress 8 and the competition for that gameday 8 is going to be great this summer. Having the extra preseason game is going to be huge for your defensive front 7. I hope we take a linebacker also.

And his line is subpar. Not a good combination.

yea maybe I am.

But if you are going to ask the question then I will answer it. Also, I see the giants as the toughest opponent in the division and think the east comes down to one of these two.

then to top it off I keep seeing, even Giants fans saying engram can't block. Duh. They didn't draft him for that that is what they signed Ellison for.

and I commented on the Washington pick also. I think they got a great player but that is not a good group of lineman in that 34 at the moment in Washington.

I am not saying the Giants aren't a threat to win the division, as they are, very much a threat.
But to read your posts, you have them already winning it, and we don't have a chance. Though you didn't say that, but to me it reads that way. As if they are impossible to stop.

And Allen is a good pick for Washington, as Barnett is for Philly. I just wanted to know how these picks were compared to Taco, what team got the best value for where they were selected. Not the best player, but the best value. Like I think we got better value at #28 with Taco than NY got with Engram at #24 or wherever it was.

I also have heard rumors lagarret Blount might be headed there

well that is you putting words in my mouth because I have not said who is going to win anything. I am simply pointing out this false narrative that they have not improved.

If fluker starts at righ tackle they would have three lineman over 325 and an excellent blocking tight end in Ellison. There run game will be improved. Dallas NY games as always will be fantastic this year.

I saw that also. WIth the size they have upfront he would be a force if he is motivated. I have my doubts he plays with the same intensity away from belichick

He was never great. As I said, he was very good, but not great. Now he's an average receiver.
You probably ought to look up his stats from just a few years ago.

Why is everyone so afraid of Marshall? At this point, he's an average receiver and that's about it. He was never great. He was good, but not great. There's a reason he's been on so many teams in his career. As for Charlton, I think he has a load of upside. I'm more than fine with the pick. This RDE v. LDE talk is nothing more than pissing and moaning. You can either play or you can't. Charlton can.
He's going to be Keyshawn Johnson circa 2004-2005 this year.

Someone on BTB said it best "it's like having a large sword in a narrow hall"

They've got serious offensive talent, but will they be able to take advantage of it
