NFC East picks vs. Taco

I trust Will McClay.

Remember when we drafted Travis Frederick and Zack Martin? We were somewhat underwhelmed. Now we're very much whelmed.

I'll have one order of underwhelmed, hold the under please sir

I think more people need to learn to trust McClay. After last year that should be a no brainer. Its fun to armchair qb it but seriously McClays resume is really becoming impressive. Taking that into consideration I really really like Taco. Couldn't be much happier with the direction of the team. Now we need a stud db.

Allen's arthritic shoulders are a serious concern for me. He's a talented player but I think there's a high risk that his body won't be able to take the punishment of game day and NFL strength training. A limited athletic profile along with legitimate concerns about health and the ability to add upper body strength leave me underwhelmed. It's a shame because he was able to beat opponents in a variety of ways and his tape is great. I understand taking the gamble because if the shoulders behave then he can be a real threat but the concerns are just too glaring for me. I think he will under perform his draft position.

Barnett was over drafted due to his college production and I think his poor athleticism will prevent him from having that production carry into the NFL. As he puts on strength, I see his upside being in the Anthony Spencer range. Kind of a one trick pony as a pass rusher. I think he already peaked and will under perform his draft position.

Engram scares me and not in the "arthritic shoulders" way. He'll probably always be a liability as a blocker but he's a matchup nightmare for most teams. A dangerous offensive weapon with room to grow on a team with some great offensive weapons. Maybe a little overdrafted on most boards but I never fault a team for taking a guy they like when he's available. I expect him to meet or outperform his draft position.

I don't love Taco but I am optimistic for a few reasons: moderate athletic profile with good size; a number of ways to get to the QB; talent still emerging. I don't expect him to be a "War Daddy" but I do think he'll be an effective pass rusher in the NFL. I think he will meet or outperform his draft position.

I was reading today on the giants message board that apparently the organization loves the Texas running back foreman.

When you have the last pick in your division, by far, you don't expect it to look better on paper, maybe not on the field. All that matters is do your picks make your team better.

Where did anyone question Frederick/Martin's passion for the game in college?

Taco has been called slow, sleepy, content by scouts who have watched his tape. I get the same vibes when i hear him speak.

If anybody can get him rolling it's Rod. He pretty much told him on the phone call, he needs 110% on every play. If he cannot play for Rod he cannot play in this league

Harbaugh is a hard ***. So is DC Dan Brown and DL coach Greg Mattison. They are all cut from the same cloth as Rod yet they couldn't get him to reach his potential. That's a big red flag for me.
