NFCE Remaining Schedule

Looking at Seattle's schedule, it's hard to imagine them losing more than one game. So we'll probably need 13 games to secure home field.
Agreed. Although it helped yesterday that the eagles banged up a couple of their key guys. I think upset in Tampa next week a distinct possibility.

I'm seeing New York Giants as a crucial game to secure the NFL East title with them having an easier schedule down the stretch. Of course, they're all important but the Giants game should be one that is quite likely to be the most competitive for us, imho. As far as playing Seattle for the conference title, I'd much rather play at AT&T than in Seattle where it's loud. We'd best run the table to make that happen (and we're capable of it.)

Eagles are done. Only have to worry about the skins and giants

I don't think they are completely done winning games but they are almost out of the NFC race at this point. If their offense would play a little better they could make a little bit more noise down the road. That being said, I think it is not likely to happen.

I look at the Giants schedule and wonder how in the hell their schedule is easier than ours since we were at the bottom of the barrel last year.

The Giants schedule is a relative cakewalk compared to ours .

The Giants are looking ahead to our game. If they gain one game on us (other than the Game they play us) in the other five games, then they control their own destiny. If they beat us they are NFC EAST champs.

Hopefully that doesn't happen and we gain a little bit of breathing room. Hopefully Philthy or the Skins will help us out a little bit there.

I have a really hard time believing in the Gnats. Every time I watch them it puzzles me how they got to 7 wins. Very plausible they drop 5 of their last 6 IMO.

I hope you are right. I just don't see them losing that many games. We could be 13 and 3 and not be NFC East champs.

I'm thinking it's going to be tough just to win the division. A loss on Thursday and the Cowboys have a one game lead with 5 to play as long as the Giants handle the Browns as they should.

You'd think 9-1 would get you a little more breathing room.
And every team outside of Cleveland can beat the Giants.

You can stick a fork in the Eagles.

If we beat the Commanders, our only competition would be the G-men.

At this point why would Cleveland want to beat anyone? The top pick in the draft is worth more to them than a win would be.

At the risk of stating some things obvious...

A head coach likes anything that might help him make the case to keep his job.

Players like anything that might help them keep their jobs.

And even if the GM and front office were to suit up and play, one win doesn't actually take them out of the running for the #1 pick anyhow.

To the contrary, the guys who show up on the field are hungry for something good to happen. They will beat someone. Will it be only after SF gets a second win? Possibly, but as I've said in so many words, the people who will figure into the equation are... obviously... the ones who play and coach the game.

I think your comments are reasonable, but I do not think they are applicable at all in this case. Cleveland has stated that they are "all in" on the "money ball" method of building their franchise. They do not care about winning at all right now. They entered the last draft with the intention of initiating a multi year process of building their team which includes acquiring as many picks as possible. They are jettisoning all of their valuable assets and letting free agents walk.

Losing actually falls right in line with what they want to accomplish, which is acquiring as much draft capital as they possibly can.

So, you're suggesting that the player and coaches are all-in on losing? I mean, let's grant that you've studied the CLE front office and your conclusions are solid. That doesn't change who actually takes the field (... not the FO...) nor the motivation of those who take the field (... again, not the FO).

Just looked at the Seattle's schedule and they could run the table. The Panthers and Cards have the best shot of beating them and then maybe the Bucs.

Looking at the NFC standings and the NFCE occupy 3 of the top 4 spots. Crazy.

1. Dallas
2. Seattle
3. NYG
4. Washington
Minny should have beat them last year. If Earl Thomas (hamstring) isn't 100% come playoff time, I don't fear them at all - and I'm already confident vs them.

Our bread and butter is our running game. We can potentially throw Zeke, DMC, AND Morris at them. I could see their front 7 worn out by 3rd quarter. :D

Oh you mean like trading next year's third rounder for the rights to give Jamie Collins a huge contract this offseason?

I meant they're not making the playoffs. They'd need to win at least 5 of the 6 to stand a chance and it's not happening.
