Remember Cowboys Zone, all the backs the Cowboys missed today will be free agents in 2028, so the Cowboys can pass on them a second time.

Just a theory- let's say the Cowboys do get Dak's deal done over the summer (and this forum explodes).

Then let's say they give Trey Lance all the preseason snaps and he excels. It's then possible Dallas could trade Lance for a 3rd, making the trade of a 4th a win, or they could even swap him for a player and a pick.

My theory is that no team is giving up anything of significance for a QB based on preseason play.

Even in that best case scenario he would have missed all the off-season work and camp with that team, and has to learn an entire new offense.

Then he becomes a free agent at the end of that one season.

So, Eagles see Dallas ain't doing **** this year, coming off a dreadful draft last year that got no meaningful play at all.
They are going all in, drafting up and down these late rounds.
They feel now is their shot and they have the balls to take it.
We are in deep doo doo, with no one to blame but our front office.

Eagles get a good linebacker in Trotter in the 5th round which is great value. Our decision to get linebacker Marist Liufau (87 overall pick) in the 3rd round linebacker pick will now be analyzed against the division foes. We will get see both 2 times a year now. The Eagles pick Trotter with pick #155 in the 5th rounder and the Commanders 5th rounder (139 overall) choice in Jordan Magee, both who were expected to go before Marist Liufau.
