I mean this was expected.

This isn't about Elliott really anymore. This is solely about protecting the power of the Commissioner now. If they lose this case, it erodes his control.

The 5th circuit is very friendly to business management apparently.

The legal system is maddening.

Will be very difficult for the NFL to persuade the appellate court to stay the injunction. No harm comes to them while Elliott plays. He can still take his 6 game suspension at any time. Hell he played all year last year while they were "investigating" it.

So is there an emergency hearing like this week or is this to be heard months down the road?

They got nothing. The material facts are what they are.

On appeal, the NFL isn't suddenly going to show that Kia Roberts findings actually ARE in the investigative report. They aren't suddenly going to show she WAS at any of the key hearings where decisions about Elliott were made.

Good.

It should.

He's obviously proven himself incapable of handling it. And the legal system has told him so, in no uncertain terms.

To me, it's a very public test of strength between the league and the players and has nothing to do with Elliott and even less to do with justice.

When judges can never agree on what the law is, is there really law?

This is turning into Texas judges versus New York judges.

Flip 'em!! We beat the Giants! we can win 4 or 5 of the next six games without Zeke and get him back rested for the stretch run. I'd rather it all be dropped, of course, but if he's got to sit out, get it over with now and put it behind us.

The NFL and Roger are at a point where they have to keep trying because they are too arrogant and too afraid to simply admit they made a mistake on this one.
They screwed the pooch on the Ray Rice thing until after the video came out.
They screwed the pooch and the Giants Kicker by giving him one game and then going back later to retro ban him more.
They screwed the pooch by having someone investigate the Elliot case, come back and tell them NOT to suspend him and ignoring their OWN investigator.

Sometimes it is actually act that gets people in trouble...it's the continual denial and cover up of it that makes it worse.

This is turning into Texas judges versus New York judges.

No NY judge has been involved in this case yet. The NFL filed in NY to try to have the case moved. That filing was denied when Judge Mazzant kept the case and ruled on it, granting the injunction. The appeal is being heard right here in Texas.
