NFL.com: Ted Ginn, Jr. to Work Out April 12

He is an excellent talent. Not quite polished enough to say excellent receiver though.

Other than Calvin Johnson I think the same could be said about the other WR. I do think there are many good ones in this draft and Jarrett is one of them.

I think every time someone mentions Mike Williams, I'll just throw out Larry Fitzgerald's name, because he ran a 4.63 at the Combine, but was taken very high because of his college production. That seemed to work out pretty well.
I know you aren't necessarily high on Jarrett, but Larry Fitzgerald didn't work out at the combine in 2004. Someone else posted that he ran a 4.54 at his pro day. I'm not sure if thats correct, just that your 4.63 didn't happen at the combine.

Too many people here don't seem to get it. And I am not sure why. If you cant separate from NFL corners , you'd better be a hell of a route runner and have good hands.

He has average hands and his routes are not precise. He would be a good pick, just not at 22.

His most famous play was getting ran down by a Notre Dame CB on Leinart's famous 4 down conversion in South Bend. And Notre Dame's secondary had absolutely no speed.

The corner covering on that play is listed as running a 4.39. The safety(#9) who is trailing and is not gaining on Jarrett runs a 4.48.

The 'Zib' ( #9) has had his speed overrated since he came out of high school in Illinois and was said to have run a 4.3 40. I'm not hating on DJ, just dont think he will be as successfull in Pro's like he was at USC.

Wow, way to jump to conclusions. He must be a wimp, right?...wrong.

He would be stupid to workout injured...it doesn't mean he CAN'T workout.
Let's see.... work out hurt and get a 4.6 in the 40 and lose millions of $ and prove you are tough, or wait til you are 100% and run a 4.3? What would you do?
Either he's a "wimp" or he heals REAL slow. Either way, that's a big gamble for the #22 overall. What pro is ever "fully healed" throughout the season? Is he gonna be able to play only when he's fully ready? It's a VALID question that must be asked & answered to be drafted #22 overall.....

I know...everyone wants that game breaking guy, but there is value in a guy who moves the chains, picks up yards in chunks, and is a end zone advantage.
Gee, sounds like you're describing Irvin to me. What a wasted pick..... :D

Jarrett may become a HOFer. He's got the size and he may be able to run well enough. Especially on the field. I don't think anyone can say picking him there is a mistake.

I wouldn't pick him with the 22nd pick for the Cowboys this year for sure. I'm not certain I would consider him the BPA at 22 either but that's an opinion.

Agreed.. But its again it's just my opinion.

If he was picked in the early second via trade up, I would have no problem with it. Unless Sidney Rice was there:D

But who knows what Jerry's Board looks like. He could have Greg Olson as the #1 WR.

To say a "possesion" receiver shouldn't be picked in the first round doesn't make sense. If you wan't Michael Irvin, Cris Carter, Anquan Boldin types etc. you take a playmaker in the first.

After watching the careers of Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin it is absurd to suggest a WR cannot be great, or isn't worthy of a first round pick based on less than Ideal forty time. You simply do not know.

You like the guy and I'm not enamored at all. Which is fine. I'm not a Rice guy either. :D

I agree, I do think it is important to have a speed receiver in the lineup to help stretch the defense but to have a guy with the abilities that Jarrett has shown is also important to an offense.
