Vick was completely aware that he was commiting a federal crime. People who are unaware that they are involved in wrongdoing do not paint houses jet black within a semi-wooded area to hide a legal 'hobby'.

I doubt very much if the guy didn't know any of this was wrong, from the fighting to the drugs, the gambling to the more than likely illegal weapons...and perhaps one of the worst things..he perpetuated the environment that some claim was at fault to begin with. These weren't mistakes, they were choices, bad choices.
I was taught early that life was full of choices, and one must live with the ones we make.
And it's not about 2nd chances. First off, he was given an incredible, once in a lifetime opportunity...one that the majority will never realize. That opportunity does not guarentee 2nd chances. I would waste more time worrying about deserving people that didn't get a first chance.
He's being reinstated. He will eventually have the opportunity to play again. He is fortunate that he is getting a 2nd chance in the same field he was in before. So alot of people have to quit rallying that the guy is 'deserving'(entitled) to a 2nd chance...he's getting it. Not on THEIR timetable perhaps, but he's getting it.
Go to hell Mike Vick. Everyone should wish you woudl go to hell like I did.JVita17;2857010 said:GO MIKE VICK. Everyone should stand up like T.O. did for Vick.
BraveHeartFan;2857049 said:#1 - This doesn't sound like Vick has gotten back into the league yet. He is going to get to play 2 preseason games, and practice, but it's done in such a way that Roger doesn't even have to think about allowing him to play again until 6 weeks into the season. Meaning whoever is willing to sign him does so knowing that they might not even know if he's going to get to play this year, or not, until 6 weeks into the season.
Basically it's a way of, at least thats how it looks to me, to potentially keep him from even being signed without even having to say anything for a handful more months.
And of course if you're the team who does take that chance, and you wait those 6 weeks into the season, and they comeback and decide he can't play this year after all. Then you wasted valuable practice time, and preseason time, on a guy who isn't even getting back in this year. I could see this, along with all the other junk that will go with Vick, scaring people off him even more.
#2 - The conversation about Little and drunk driving...yes he should be out of the league and yes he should be in jail. Stalworth should be as well.
You can say they didn't intend to hurt anyone, until you're blue in the face, but the fact is that even if they didn't intend to do it they also sure as hell didn't care, one bit, if they did hurt someone. If they didnt' they wouldn't have ever got behind the wheel of a car while drinking.
I've never understood why anyone would ever make that decision and there is no way anyone can ever convince me that those people simply made a mistake. No, they didn't. It's not like the didn't know they had been drinking and shouldn't be driving a car. It's not like they don't know that it's possible that they could hurt, or kill, themselves or someone else by doing so. They just decide that they really don't care because they're going to do whatever they want.
They're idiots. When those folks get caught their licences should be taken from them for good. No questions asked. There is simply no excuse for choosing to get behind the wheel of a vehicle after you've been drinking. Period.
If you kill someone doing it you should go to jail just like anyone else who killed someone. Sure you didn't necassarily set out to murder someone but you got behind the wheel of that car while drunk, knowing that you're at a much greater risk of killing someone by doing so, and you just didn't care.

A lot of 'it could be's'.

It's another chicken crap move by Godell to make sure everyone knows who the sheriff is.
I have no respect for Vick.
I have even less for Godell.
Make a freeking decision for the love or Pete. (pun intended)
Doomsday101;2857072 said:True and as you say he will be looked at in terms of his conduct on and off the field with little margin for error. He is a risk and as I recall he has had some other minor incidents before the dog fighting incident took place.
