Anyone that thinks the Hawaii QB will go in the first round needs to jump off a 100 story building with anvils chained to their head.

Yup, can't agree w/ you more.

Don't get me wrong, the kid's got some ability and I'd love to get him during the earlier part of day 2, but.....

...at his current playing weight, he'll get demolished. Also, the few times I saw him, he seems to have an exaggerated sidearm delivery. He's going to need a good 3 years of gaining weight and working on his mechanics. He's a project that may pan out big in the end, but for a team to spend a first on him would be the equivalent of us taking Quincy in the 2nd.

On the plus side, he does have a quick release and he did throw for a ton of yds and tds...impressive no matter what system he played under.

Just saw this from the Jarvis Moss blurb and thought it was funny:

Despite playing defensive end in college he is undersized for the position at the next level but thanks to his top-notch athleticism his best fit in the pros might be at outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme like the Ravens run.

That only proves you aren't the only one wrong about what scheme they run.

Go to a ravens message board and ask them if you don't believe me.

They run all defenses.

That's what I stated before. But they run the 46 most of the time.
But they didn't run it at all in the playoff game.

They showed a lot more than we do.. I envy the creative minds over there.

4-6 would just be Ed Reed in centerfield alone?

I dont even remember the Ravens SS name getting mentioned once... not that that means they ran the 4-6.

He could have just had zero impact.

if we spend another first round pick on a safety, someone should be shot in the face with a potatoe gun... repeatedly.

I agree - not a big proponent of FS with the first pick.

I just don't know that I believe that every LB in the 3-4 has to be great in coverage. You usually have a run stopper who isn't. Vrabel isn't particularly special in coverage. I don't really think I've seen Larry Foote make many plays in coverage either.

Maybe you have to find a way to keep James closer to the line of scrimmage...I suppose that means he has to cover backs, I wonder if he can even do that.

No, I don't think you can do that. The problem is that Offenses can dictate which LB draws coverage, many times. Unless of course, the coverage is a Blitz call and then maybe that changes but still, the offense has the opportunity to make a big play against the Blitz so it's kind of a wash IMO. Basically, I think all your LBs need to be able to cover to a certain extent. Especially your inside guys if your playing a Cover2.

Ok, well name a quarter. I'll look at every play in that quarter and tell you the lineup on every play.
