This pick would make me :puke:

Two Reasons:

#1. We could have our pick of any 4 defensive backs and we would still get picked apart... we NEED another pass rusher.

#2. What has Patrick Watkins done recently to make us think he cant be our guy for the future? (2 big TDs in the beginning of the seasons could have easily been erased if not for a ref picking RW and Ellis missing a sack going unblocked).

I still dont understand why some of you guys are in love with guys like Nelson and Landry.

You dont understand that we had virtually ZERO pass rush the 2nd half of the season?

I think you are giving Nelson a little too much credit since Florida's pass rush was amazing... it could have overshadowed the secondary of the Gators.

See the pressure they put on Smith? It didnt matter who was covering the Ohio St. WRS... the pass rush dominated that game and that is what the Cowboys need to strive for - A PASS RUSH.

Not sexy, but the results will show on the field. I've seen the best QBs completely fold under serious pressure.

Just remember the 1st Cowboys super bowl victory in the 90s. Bills were going through teams like water. They were a run and gun team (sort of like the Patriots and Colts/Saints) Actually, the Bills made the Colts offense look like trash. They were basically unstoppable, and Jim Kelly and company would run that hurry up offense, it was tough.

The Cowboys basically came in there with their basic ball control timing offense, but that Cowboys defensive front line was off the chain, and they got after Kelly like no other. We had a 7th round draft choice cornerback, and it just didn't matter because we were in their faces all day long.

Reggie Nelson would be an incredible 1st rd pick for us!!! the guy is fast, can deliver a hit, but most importantly is a playmaker and can cover. I would absolutely love it if he were our 1st rd pick. Although some of the other picks in this draft i dont agree with. like Ginn over Jarrett among others

Yeah he is real fast....:laugh2:

Guess you didn't see the first play of the BCS Championship game and that Florida player (number 1) taking an angle on real speed Ted Ginn..

That player was Reggie Nelson..

Great post. Very true. We mean downright nasty and agressive on D.

BTW - just so you know... the "greatest franchise on earth" is in fact the New York Yankees. Fact not bias. :D

I fear the 49ers geting Ginn Jr. more than just about anything and that this mock has them selecting him really, really pisses me off! There's nothing we can do about it!

In just one year they will pass us by like a freight train if we're not careful.

arghh I was looking at their old mock...got to reevaluate this one.

lol...Russel is more of a project than Quinn? That is not true at all.

I love Jamaal Anderson but he is NOT a Richard Seymour clone and shouldn't be a top 10 pick unless the draft class is really weak. He has a great motor but has a lot of work to do on strength and technique before he is a star player.

Also Sidney Rice is a much better player than they give him credit for. He easily has the best hands of anybody in the draft.

Pick up Asante Samuel from New Englang in free agency. Move Henry to FS. Pick Jarvis Moss at #22 in the first round.

That, IMO would fix the defense, if we could get some decent coaching. The secondary would be great and Moss and Ware off the edges at WOLB and SOLB would provide a great rush. Move Carpenter inside to compete with Bradie James and presto... instant fix.

Unless we sign a good guard in FA, I think we should maybe take Justin Blaylock. I know that's high for a guard, but we need one in the worst way. The best bet would be to trade down a few spots and take Blaylock, plus we could get an extra pick for trading down. If not, I say take the best pass rusher available or maybe even trade up to get one.

Like Blaylock's scouting reports says, he's very powerful and does not get pushed back at the point of attack. He's got a mean streak and the scouting report said he was a "road grader". God, I miss having one of those. We could definitely use this guy.

Okay, where do we sign up for this fix?

Its true.

I just hope we move Carp inside. I am scared that James will get 1 more year to start though.

Carp is superior in coverage compared to James - If Carp can emerge and take off where he left off near the end of the year, I think he can be dominant in the middle of the defense.

Anyone that thinks the Hawaii QB will go in the first round needs to jump off a 100 story building with anvils chained to their head.

I bet my life he won't go in the first round. If he does, I'll film myself rubbing steaks all over my naked body, then jumping in an alligator pit. After I'm dead, I'll put the vid up on youtube. Yes, that's right, I'll post the vid from the afterlife.

And if we draft that saftey from Florida in the first round I'll throw JJ, BP, and Jeff Ireland into the gator pit with me.

I am with the move... just hoping our coaching staff thinks the same.

No comment about the Hawaii QB.

As for the 2nd part... I will assist you if we do something that stupid.

If I have to see a naked man who goes by RACK ,I will rub naked alligators on my steaks and eat them because I believe that would produce wild kingdom smelly type vomit.
