It wouldn't surprise me. He fits Quinn cover 3 perfect and has ball skills. If this defense is fast and disruptive that gets turnovers I'm ok with a corner getting beat at times. Almost every pick they made on defense with these 5 picks are fast. They have a plan and sticking to it. I'm willing to give them a chance, can't be worst than last year

I agree Wright was a reach, but it's clear the Cowboys wanted him so I guess it doesn't matter if they took him at 99 or at 238. I'm sure there's still plenty of players left on their board they will still be able to get with their two 4th round picks tomorrow- if they land a big DT like Nixon or Shelvin I'll forget all about Wright pick.

Yeah....maybe I'm over-reacting to the Wright pick...If we hit that pick.....damn....our draft isn't looking too shabby. Like I was saying.....if we come back tomorrow...in the 4th w/ Marvin Wilson DL Florida St....then maybe we add a few more pieces....then maybe this won't turn out to be so bad.

McNeil went at #72 to the Lions. The Cowboys took DT Osa Odighizuwa three picks later at 75

Would you have taken Alim McNeil at 44, the Cowboys 2nd round pick?

I think it’s easy for fans to say “we should have taken soandso!” But in some cases, it’s not even a real person they want, but rather a mystery player that doesn’t exist

There are no “premium” 1-techs this year. It’s a historically weak DT draft class.

Expecting any team to magically create a player out of thin air is easy.

They could've taken a stab at it in the 3rd, or traded back up into the 2nd, but noooooo. They decided to toss those 3 3rd rounders up into the wind and just see where they landed.

Where was Barmore in comparison to Joseph....Osa? This was monumentally bad

The result = 6-10.

I don't think we could be worse than that this year, even with all of these "so called" 7th rounders.

See post 1429 by Cowboyec.........there were several available DTs rated higher than the one we took, plus we could've tried trading up with those extra 3rd rounders.
Besides that, failing the DL didn't just start this year, it's been a long standing problem. That's one reason our defense is in the basement.

But granted, you're correct that this has not been a prime year for DTs.

That’s my issue. I’m ok with not trading up and losing your guys stinks (Surtain, Moehrig, Williams). But landing the dudes we did? You can’t justify not trading and just loading up on junk picks
